An innovative Valheim player has constructed a huge roller coaster that sends boats on a wild ride. While the Viking-themed survival game provides action, adventure, and deep exploration into a Norse-inspired world, the game has a lot more to offer than just slaying trolls. Valheim players have used the expansive build system to erect impressive structures and engineer incredible recreations of famous landmarks. Most notably, players have recreated Whiterun from Skyrim, Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings, and even France’s Eiffel Tower. The ingenuity doesn’t stop there, though, because players have learned to create windmills, zoos, and even a spiral staircase that makes archery towers possible.

Valheim has spawned a community of players who seek to construct the wackiest and most insane builds they can. This race for innovation is similar in the Minecraft community, which has players strategically manipulating the game’s mechanics to craft incredible things. While Valheim has a more limiting build system than Minecraft, most notably due to the challenge of obtaining and housing building materials, players have continued to push the game to its limits. New feats of engineering arrive each day and the latest has players foaming at the mouth.

As spotted by Game Rant, genius Valheim player DEPPENTREFF figured out how to build an entire roller coaster. Starting at the peak of a mountain, the roller coaster track twists and turns, leading out to a river dividing two landmasses. Setting a boat down at the top and giving it a little push results in the boat riding the track in an incredible display of speed and thrill. Since the roller coaster funnels into the river, the boat then gently crashes into the water and can even be sailed out to sea.

The roller coaster can be used as a transport system across vast amounts of terrain that may allow for ease of access while traversing between mountains and rivers. The ride works specifically because of the height of the mountain, allowing the boat to build up momentum and make it to the bottom in spectacular fashion. However, this tactic may be used to bridge the gap within large bases and even act as an escape plan during raids. While it isn’t the most effective use of building materials, and may drastically drop frame rates, the roller coaster marks another ingenious design that proves the capabilities of Valheim’s build system.

It may not be Disneyland, but the Valheim roller coaster is sure to spark even more creative designs now that players know what is possible. Just like real-world innovation, it all starts with one good idea.
