Warning! Spoilers for Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #2 by Marvel Comics below

Few Marvel Comics heroes stand a chance in a fight against the Hulk, but Spider-Man just showed with an incredible, magical power-up, the gamma monster can be defeated. In Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #2, the web-slinger was sent to a new dimension where he was forced to take on the Hulk – but thanks to the Norn Stone, Spider-Man came out as the victor.

Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads continues Spider-Man’s adventures with his alien black suit before it wound up in the hands of Eddie Brock and became Venom. In the new crossroad series, Moondark is tasked with retrieving the magical Nun Stone by Karnilla, Queen of the Norns. But, after Spider-Man teamed up with Black Cat to take down Moondark, Peter was sent through an interdimensional portal – which led him right to the Hulk. The Jade Giant was imprisoned in the Crossroads Dimension, meaning Spider-Man was facing a very angry Hulk who had spent some time thinking about how he would crush the next person he saw.

In Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #2 by Peter David, Greg Land, Jay Leisten, Frank D’Armata, and VC’s Joe Sabino, Spider-Man is thrown into immediate chaos after arriving in the Crossroads Dimension. He quickly discovers the Hulk – who was sent away by Doctor Strange so he couldn’t hurt any more people – inhabits the dimension and isn’t happy to see him. However, Spider-Man accidentally bonds with the Norn Stone as the Hulk is about to take him down, turning him into the strongest version of symbiote spidey ever.

Spider-Man becomes influenced by both the symbiote suit and the Norn Stone and admits he’s never felt so strong, and he feels like “nothing” could ever beat him again. When the Hulk tests that statement, Spider-Man responds by dodging his punches – becoming so strong, he withstands a mammoth punch from his fellow Avenger. Finally, Spider-Man delivers a huge punch to the Hulk, sending him flying. The fight ends with both heroes being teleported back in time, running into Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur.

There’s no telling if the Crossroads Dimension or the time spent there weakened the Hulk, but even if it did, the strongest version of Spider-Man showed him up in ways few heroes ever have. He was completely unphased by the Jade Giant, and knocked him to the ground with ease. Yes, the symbiote suit and Norn Stone were responsible for Spider-Man hanging with and beating him in a fight, but without such amazing power-ups, pretty much nobody can stop the Hulk.
