The upcoming 1.7 update for Hunt: Showdown is expected to deliver some key features that the community has been hoping would be added for quite some time. The option to reconnect to matches and the ability to create preset load outs are two features that have been frequently requested, but there’s plenty of other changes coming alongside. Map changes, new and reworked traits, and a new weapon will all be coming to Hunt: Showdown when version 1.7 launches.

A few months ago a new Hunt: Showdown map was released, which was a significant occasion considering there were only two before. The developers at Crytek have not slowed down much in bringing new content following that major release, though, and 1.7 is perhaps the biggest overhaul coming since. This new update is fresh off the heels of Hunt‘s Halloween event, and will likely bridge the gap leading up to a possible holiday event.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The developers hosted a livestream to go over the changes on November 10, and the 1.7 update is now live on the PC test servers as of the time of writing. Some tweaks may be made between its test server and live version, but should be released in full sometime in the next few weeks. A full list of the 1.7 patch notes can now be found on the Hunt: Showdown Steam Community page, but all the important bits have been outlined below.

Hunt: Showdown 1.7 Update – Reconnect Support

The ability to reconnect to a Hunt: Showdown server after being removed from the match in some way has been a long-standing request from the community, and 1.7 will finally make it a reality. Prior to 1.7, the game would attempt to make sure a hunter was not discarded if the game crashed, but this seemed to not be completely reliable, especially when the game client froze and had to be manually restarted. Once 1.7 goes live, the game will automatically try to reconnect players to the match if the client is still running.

If the game has completely crashed, restarted, or kicked a player to the main menu, it will present players with the option of reconnecting. Alongside the choice to reconnect or abandon the hunter that was taken into the mission, Hunt will also display the current, in-game status of teammates. All teammates will be listed as one of four statuses: alive, downed, dead (cannot be revived except when in possession of a bounty), or currently downed and burning. The status update will also list the remaining mission time, and the pending hunter will be frozen in place where the disconnect occurred.

Hunt: Showdown 1.7 Update: Preset Load Outs

Alongside the ability to reconnect to a Hunt: Showdown match (a treasure itself), saving preset loadouts is popularly requested. Each time a hunter is killed – which can be frequently – a new one must be outfitted, which can take time as players sift through the menus. Now, players will be able to create preset load outs for purchasing weapons and equipment in bulk. Players will start with three preset load out slots, with a seven more able to be unlocked with Blood Bonds. Players will get access to preset load outs once they’ve finished the trainee window by reaching Bloodline Rank 11.

The preset load out menu will be accessible from the screen which shows a player’s roster of hunters. There will be a button labeled “Custom” above the weapons and equipment, and will open a new window. Selecting a preset load out will draw from acquired inventory first, then automatically purchase the rest needed to complete the load out. Additionally, each one will can be renamed in order to better organize the “Custom” menu.

Hunt: Showdown 1.7 Update: New & Reworked Traits

Three new traits are being added to Hunt: Showdown’s FPS smorgasbord with the 1.7 update. Magpie will be available from Bloodline Rank 1 and provide a random buff after picking up a bounty, mimicking either an Antidote, Stamina, or Regeneration Shot. The trait costs one upgrade point and the effect will last for 150 seconds. At Bloodline Rank 38, players will unlock Vigor, which can be purchased with four upgrade points. Vigor doubles the rate at which health and stamina regenerate while using Dark Sight, and can be stacked on top of Regeneration Shots. Poison Sense, unlocked at Bloodline Rank 84 and costing one upgrade point, lets players see poisoned enemies in Dark Sight up to 50 meters away.

The Vigilant trait, which highlights traps in Dark Sight, has also been significantly buffed, increasing its effective range from five to 25 meters, and making the highlight effect much more prominent. Blade Seer has also been improved through better highlight effects for arrows, bolts, throwing knives, and throwing axes in Dark Sight, but its range has been slightly reduced from 30 to 25 meters. Various other Hunt: Showdown traits have new unlock requirements as well:

  • Hornskin now unlocks at Rank 1 (previously Rank 2)
  • Salveskin now unlocks at Rank 1 (previously 15)
  • Bloodless now unlocks at Rank 1 (previously 37)
  • Mithridatist now unlocks at Rank 15 (previously 53)
  • Whispersmith now unlocks at Rank 38 (previously 53)

Hunt: Showdown 1.7 Update: New Weapons & Skins

The 1.7 update is bringing a new long ammo carbine to Hunt: Showdown – the Berthier Mle 92. The Berthier will indirectly bring a buff to the Bulletgrubber trait, since its three-round clip must be reloaded all at once, leaving the possibility of wasting two bullets with a partial reload. Having to manually eject the clip with a partial reload also means it will be faster to fire all three rounds before reloading. It’s unique reload requirements also lets hunters take two ammo types, with the three options being basic, Spitzer, and incendiary rounds.

Hunt‘s 1.7 update is also coming with four new legendary weapon skins (though there doesn’t appear to be any new cosmetic Hunt: Showdown DLC for the time being): Swan Song, a legendary Lebel 1886 priced at 700 Blood Bonds; Springs End, a legendary Springfield 1866 Compact priced at 500 Blood Bonds; Gaunt, a legendary Mosin-Nagant Obrez Drum priced at 600 Blood Bonds; and Siren’s Song, a legendary Martini-Henry IC1 available for 600 Blood Bonds.

Hunt: Showdown 1.7 Update: Map Changes

There are a wide variety of small map changes coming to all three Hunt: Showdown maps with 1.7, but the biggest change by far is coming to the Scupper Lake compound in Stillwater Bayou. Scupper Lake, notorious for its wealth of water, is having more land and wooden walkways added, which should improve traversal. The compound’s main building is also receiving a perimeter wall, and an entirely new barn is being added to its south. Catfish Grove is similarly getting more land and additional structures.

Both the Lawson Delta and DeSalle Hunt: Showdown maps have a handful of reworks as well, but nothing as significant as those at Scupper Lake or even Catfish Grove in Stillwater Bayou. Cover has been moved, windows readjusted and given shutters, boss lairs have been given more room inside or even an additional entrance, and vegetation has been moved around in a variety of places. In additional to all these major changes, there are a number of bug fixes, UI improvements, and menu changes listed in the Hunt: Showdown patch notes for version 1.7.
