DLC 2 for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’s Expansion Pass is now available to purchase via the Nintendo eShop. Age of Calamity’s Expansion Pass Wave 2, also known as “Guardian of Remembrance,” counts as the second paid DLC offering for the Omega Force-developed hack-and-slash adventure.

The first wave, “Pulse of the Ancients,” launched in mid-June, debuting fresh weapon types such as Link’s Flail, the Battle-Tested Guardian as a playable character, extra enemies, and a few new Royal Ancient Lab challenges. Players interested in all of the above must pick up Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’s full Expansion Pass, which bears a $20 price tag. For reasons unknown, the two DLC waves are not available to purchase separately. And at the time of writing, there’s nothing to suggest Nintendo will change its mind about this particular content release structure. At least the publisher kept its promise about rolling out the second wave of DLC in late October.

Over four months after releasing Age of Calamity’s DLC Wave 1, developer Omega Force and Nintendo have unleashed the Expansion Pass’ second wave – “Guardian of Remembrance.” Players who own Age of Calamity can access the content via the game’s $20 Expansion Pass, a post on the official Zelda website reiterates. Notably, the latest DLC release comes packed with playable characters Purah and Robbie, new stages for the Coliseum and Kakariko Village set 100 years in the past, and “emotional new story sequences.” In addition, players can expect to unlock extra actions for existing heroes. It’s also worth noting the 1.3.0 update that launched earlier in the week in preparation for “Guardian of Remembrance” addressed a slew of known issues, including an uncommon bug that hindered progress.

Now that the two waves of DLC for Age of Calamity are out in the wild, Hyrule Warriors owners can enjoy everything the action-packed adventure has on offer. Players will especially want to closely follow the new story sequences featured in “Guardian of Remembrance.”

Theories abound online with regards to if and how the events of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity connect to those of Breath of the Wild. It seems unlikely that Nintendo and Co. will provide a direct answer anytime soon. But the theories and guessing games will likely pick up steam once Breath of the Wild’s eagerly-awaited sequel hits stores shelves next year.
