The soundtrack for I Am Not Okay with This season 1 includes a variety of throwback rock songs, and features music from a band that was created specifically for the Netflix series. As a whole, the collective tracks establish a rebellious tone, one that matches the teenage angst of protagonist Syd Novak, portrayed by IT franchise star Sophia Lillis. Based on Charles Forsman’s eponymous 2017 graphic novel, I Am Not Okay with This season 1 released in February 2020.

In I Am Not Okay with This season 1, Syd grapples with a dark force that gives her superhuman abilities. She also forms a bond with the kind-hearted Stan Barber (Wyatt Oleff), but has stronger feelings for female classmate and friend Dina (Sofia Bryant). As Syd learns more about her late father’s past, she comes to the realization that she might be able to control her mental powers. Unfortunately, someone locates Syd’s diary and knows all about her deepest secrets. Prior to I Am Not Okay with This season 1, Netflix adapted Forsman’s popular graphic novel The End Of The F***ing World.
