For casual Love is Blind fans, the name Danielle Drouin may mean nothing. For dedicated fans of the series, or those who frequent Screen Rant, Danielle had one of the craziest love stories on the show. Love Is Blind viewers probably remember Rory Newbrough as the dating guru who constantly gave advice and guidance to the contestants as they tried to find their soulmate. While he was helping others find love, he found it himself.

Rory’s love story with Danielle was one of the two unaired engagements. Rory and Danielle left the Love is Blind pods engaged and ready to start a future together. However, their story didn’t have the same happy ending as some of the other couples on the series.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Screen Rant interviewed Danielle and she gave us more information about her romance with Rory… and her romance with Matt Thomas, another contestant on the series. For awhile Danielle felt torn between the two men and uncertain about which one to pick. She felt like “they were two different sides”  of her. Danielle struggled to pick between the two men until the very last day on the show.

Danielle shared that Matt decided to leave the pods without getting engaged. He wanted them to see how things worked out in the real world before committing. He asked her to leave the pods with him and not to get engaged. However, Danielle didn’t feel like she could do that:

I told him that I needed to have my last date with Rory and talk to him. I couldn’t 100 percent tell him the same things that Matt was telling me because my heart was also still with Rory. I knew I owed it to Rory before I made any drastic decisions to leave.

Danielle spoke about feeling an instant connection with Rory from the first moment they spoke to their last day together in the pods. After having her last date with Matt, she went on to go on her final date with Rory, and he proposed:

Everything felt great and at that time I felt like I made the right decision. I felt so comfortable with my decision and Rory and I met for the first time. I can’t even tell you how I felt. My whole body was shaking. I was so nervous when they opened the door for the first time and I saw Rory. I was crying. I felt like I was floating to him. We had such a beautiful embrace and we kissed. The whole thing was magical. I think we only had about 15 minutes together but it felt like 2 seconds. We were talking about how we were going to run away. We were like ‘let’s just leave now. Let just runaway together.’ It felt right. At that moment everything felt right.
