RocketWerkz studios’ latest survival game Icarus can offer a challenging experience to those willing to explore its world. However, as players progress in the game, it will be imperative to increase their character’s aptitudes by leveling them up. Icarus offers many ways for players to do this, but some methods of getting experience can be faster than others.

Each level that players gain while surviving the world of Icarus will reward them with one talent point and three blueprint points. Blueprint points can be spent on the Tech Tree and unlock crafting blueprints for players to use. Talent points can enhance the character’s abilities in many ways, such as increased speed, a larger stamina pool, or more health. Players will receive an extra talent point every five levels.

A general rule to rush the leveling process is to hold down F while moving and exploring. This will make the character harvest everything in its way, which players should be doing if they aim to level up faster. Harvesting, crafting, and killing animals are all things that provide experience in Icarus, so as long as players are active, they will level up quickly.

How to Gain Experience Fast in Icarus

An important tip for those seeking to rush their leveling and explore the late-game features of Icarus is to never stop gathering shrubs. Then, over time, as the inventory becomes full, players can use the fibers to craft bandages and destroy them to recover some of the materials. All of this will give experience and keep players stocked with bandages, which they will need to fight wolves.

This leads to the second tip: always be on the lookout for wolves. Finding, killing, and harvesting these predators give a lot of experience relative to the effort it takes to bring them down. In addition, they provide bone that players can utilize to craft better weapons, tools, and meat, which takes care of one of three basic necessities in Icarus.

Until players reach level five, their focus should be on gathering shrubs and felling trees. Chopping up logs should be avoided as they do not provide enough experience. Cutting down trees also clears the area of obstacles which can help to reveal wolves roaming the harsh world of Icarus. In addition, the wood from the trees can be used to craft arrows, and the excess can be destroyed to recover materials.

After level five, players should craft the bone knife, bone sickle, and bone arrows. They should continue to kill and harvest wolves whenever possible but otherwise can focus on gathering shrubs with the bone sickle. This may not be the fastest way to get to level 10, but it is the safest and still pretty quick.

After level 10, players can hunt wolves by setting up a base near the snow biome in area J13. Players should be careful, as wolves will roam in packs in the area. Aiming for the head with the bow and switching to the bone knife if they get close is a very effective strategy. It is also essential to craft appropriate clothes to resist the cold, as the frosty biome can quickly take its toll on the character’s health.

After building the base in the snow biome of Icarus, players can use ice, a water container, and a fire pit to produce water. Players can also find plenty of oxide and sulfur in the area, which players can combine with an Oxite Dissolver to create oxygen. If players are focused on hunting and harvesting wolves, hunger will not pose much of a threat as they should constantly be well-stocked on meat.

Icarus is available now on PC via Steam.
