There are many useful materials in Icarus that need to be crafted such as Glass or Steel. Players will need to level up by gaining experience in order to unlock the ability to make Glass. Gaining enough experience can take some time, but there are a few ways players can level up fast in Icarus. After reaching a high enough level, players will need to build specific items to process raw materials and turn them into Glass.

The easiest ways to gain experience early in the game are to constantly harvest resources and chop down trees. Each new level will award players points to spend in their Tech Tree which will open up new crafting options. Once players reach level 20 in Icarus, they can begin unlocking the Machining Table and the Concrete Furnace to create Glass.

Players will need to gather a few materials to build the Machining Table and Concrete Furnace in Icarus. The Machining Table will require 20 Wood, 12 Stones, 120 Iron Nails, 40 Iron Ingots, 12 Epoxy, and 24 Rope. Once the Machining Table is crafted, players can use it to build a Concrete Furnace, which will require 12 Iron Ingots, eight Rope, 12 Epoxy, and 20 Concrete Mix. With the Concrete Furnace built, players will be able to turn raw materials into Glass.

Crafting Glass in Icarus

After obtaining the right building bench and furnace, crafting Glass is fairly simple in Icarus. Players just need Coal for the furnace and Silica to turn into Glass. Silica is a very common resource that can be found around the overworld, and Coal can be mined in any of the caves in Icarus. Caves are located in many different regions and are usually in mountainous areas or underwater. Players can place both resources into the Concrete Furnace, and it will start producing Glass.

In Icarus, Glass is used for a variety of Blueprints including a Dehumidifier, a Flashlight, and various construction materials. Glass becomes increasingly important as players unlock higher-tier Blueprints, so obtaining a large quantity as early as possible is recommended. Once players get to a high enough level, they will be able to unlock the Glassworking Bench which allows them to craft more Glass items.

Although Glass is used in a variety of construction materials, it’s not a very strong resource, so players should use caution when crafting buildings out of Glass. Surviving in Icarus is the biggest challenge, and players will likely want to build a reinforced base that can withstand hazardous conditions rather than a base made of Glass. However, aside from building materials, Glass will be an important resource to use in valuable items, so it’s still worth crafting large amounts of it in Icarus.
