Icarus: How to Make Steel Ingots

In Icarus, players can craft Steel Ingots, but they will need to complete a few tasks first and obtain specific tools to gather the proper materials. Players will need to unlock a few different branches in their Tech Tree by leveling up and gaining experience as quickly as possible. There are a few different strategies players can use to level up fast in Icarus and take steps towards making Steel Ingots.

Each time players level up in Icarus, they are awarded three Blueprint Points, which can be used to unlock Tech Tree skills. Constantly harvesting materials from the ground and cutting down trees can help players who are just starting out gain experience quickly. In order to gain the ability to make Steel Ingots, players will need to get enough experience to unlock the Stone Pickaxe, Concrete Furnace, and Mortar and Pestle from their Tech Tree.

Steel Ingots will help players survive in Icarus, but they need to be crafted using a few different items. The Stone Pickaxe is required to mine mineral deposits in caves, so players will need to unlock and craft this tool first to gather the resources for Steel Ingots. Once players have the Stone Pickaxe, they can travel to one of the caves around the map to search for Iron Ore, Iron Ingots, and Coal. Steel Ingots can be crafted using two different sets of materials, but the method for crafting always involves using the Mortar and Pestle and the Concrete Furnace.

Smelt Steel Bloom into Steel Ingots in Icarus

The Mortar and Pestle in Icarus can be built at the Crafting Station using 12 Stone and four Silica, and the Concrete Furnace is made at the Machining Bench using 20 Concrete Mix, 12 Epoxy, 12 Iron Ingots, and eight Rope. Crafting both will require players to do a bit of resource gathering, but they’re worth building early in the game. With these items and the Stone Pickaxe crafted, players can start turning raw minerals into Steel Ingots.

In order to craft Steel Ingots in Icarus, players will need either six Iron Ore or three Iron Ingots and one Coal. With either set of materials, players can head to their Mortar and Pestle to turn the resources into Steel Bloom. Next, players will need to take the Steel Bloom to the Concrete Furnace to smelt them into Steel Ingots. More powerful weapons and various upgraded equipment can be crafted with Steel Ingots, which can help players fight off dangerous enemies like bears in Icarus.

Players will need to craft Steel Ingots early in Icarus in order to obtain useful weapon upgrades and better tools. Steel Ingots will become essential for players to progress in Icarus and face the dangers of the world around them. Unlocking blueprints and crafting equipment as quickly as possible will increase players’ chances of surviving each session in Icarus.
