Netflix’s psychological horror film, I’m Thinking Of Ending Things, features a star-studded cast of genre veterans and newcomers—here’s where they’ve been featured before. The movie is adapted from Iain Reid’s novel of the same name by Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind director Charlie Kaufman. The film follows the tenuous relationship between a couple during a visit to one of their family’s homes for the first time.

I’m Thinking Of Ending Things showcases the complexities of the psyche in the midst of discovering that a relationship may not work out for much longer. It stars Jesse Plemons (Jake), Jessie Buckley (Cindy), Toni Collette (Suzie), and David Thewlis (Dean). As Jake and Cindy travel to his parents’ family farm, she quickly comes to the realization that she is thinking of ending their relationship. This serves as the main premise of the film that causes the riff between the two, and complicates what should be a major step in their relationship. As it progresses, I’m Thinking Of Ending Things transforms from a film about an internalized battle about breaking up into a psychologically horrific story with an abundance of twists and turns.
