WARNING! Spoilers for Into the Dark: Crawlers ahead.

Into the Dark’s newest celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, Crawlers, features an extraterrestrial invasion and a cast of exciting up and comers that help bring this quirky sci-fi/horror hybrid to life.

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday that doesn’t get fixated on enough in the horror genre, which is why director Brandon Zuck’s (Swipe Night) Crawlers is such a fun experiment. Crawlers perfectly skews towards a young adult audience as it presents an unconventional look at alien doppelgängers while also managing to say something important.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Crawlers features an alien invasion that’s set around messy drunken hijinks. Hulu’s horror film doesn’t try to reinvent the genre, but it still tells a very fun story that’s likely to entertain film fans who want to watch something supernatural on St. Patrick’s Day. Crawlers contains some deadly, motivated aliens, but at its core it’s a story about frayed friendships and believing victims. One reason the story is able to connect well is due to the film’s entertaining characters and talented actors.

Into The Dark: Crawlers’ Main Cast & Characters

Giorgia Whigham as Shauna Shore: Shauna is not only the protagonist of Crawlers, but she’s also the film’s narrator who tells the story from the future. Shauna is incredibly detached and afraid to make emotional connections. Giorgia Whigham’s career is beginning to flourish. She’s had regular roles on shows like The Punisher and Scream: The Series, but Crawlers shows off her full range.

Pepi Sonuga as Misty: Misty puts on a strong face but she enters Crawlers in a very damaged state. She’s still reeling over how her best friend, Chloe, abandoned her when she needed her help the most. Pepi Sonuga is no stranger to the horror and suspense genres, having roles in Ash vs Evil Dead, Leprechaun Returns, and Under the Silver Lake.

Jude Demorest as Chloe Willis: Chloe is someone who loves to have a good time and be the center of attention. She and Misty have been best friends for years, but recently there’s been a falling out between them. Jude Demorest’s talents can also be seen in Star and the CW’s reboot of Dallas, but hopefully her work in Crawlers will provide her more opportunities in horror.

Cameron Fuller as Aaron Hampton: Aaron enters Crawlers as a stereotypical frat boy predator and the leader of the fraternity’s “Wolf Pack.” Aaron is scrutinized and written off because of rumors, but he’s actually compassionate and seems to hate how he’s acted in the past. Into the Dark’s Crawlers is one of Cameron Fuller’s bigger projects, with many of his roles contained to short films. Fuller can also be seen in The Last Ship and Netflix’s Rim of the World.

Olivia Liang as Youejin: Youejin has recently moved to town from New York City and she’s quickly won over Chloe’s interests and become the bane of Misty’s existence. Before starring in Into the Dark’s Crawlers, Olivia Liang appeared in series like Legacies, Dating After College, Grey’s Anatomy, and is primed for television.

Into The Dark’s Crawlers’ Supporting Cast & Characters

Zachary Roozen as Michael: Michael is another reckless frat boy who’s second in command of the “Wolf Pack,” but seems to ultimately be even more disgusting than Aaron. Michael’s father is an influential lawyer who can constantly buy him out of trouble and so Michael lives life with no worries or concept of consequence. Zachary Roozen has also appeared in the series Con and Eight Crazy Dates, but Into the Dark’s Crawlers is his biggest role yet.

Virginia Louise Smith as Mrs. Shore (Shauna’s Mom): Shauna’s mother, Mrs. Shore, first experienced these aliens back in the ‘70s when they initially landed. Mrs. Shore is also who informs Shauna, Misty, and Aaron about Into the Dark’s alien threat and how to wipe out their hive. Virginia Louise Smith is a bit of a veteran in the industry, appearing in a number of television series that span across different genres, like Scandal, American Crime Story, and True Blood.
