The Amazon Prime show Invincible takes place in the world of alien planets, different dimensions, and super-powered beings. Therefore, the show is filled with a large number of superheroes and villains. Each has varying personalities and varying powers. As such, they all have a variety of super costumes.

Each costume manages to match what the superhero or villain stands for, and it often matches their powers and abilities too. These costumes are all eye-catching and colorful, but a certain number of costumes manage to stand out amongst the rest.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Atom Eve

Eve’s costume stands out due to its pink color, which blends into her red hair. The costume consists of a short-legged bodysuit, a cape, long gloves, boots, and a billowing pink cape. As she is named Atom Eve, her costume’s symbol is the female symbol redesigned to look similar to an atom.

Because of the ultra-feminine design of the suit, Eve’s costume becomes a sort of a joke in the show. When fighting Doc Seismic, he comments on her costume, saying that whoever designed that costume for her is making her pander to gender roles. The joke is flipped on its head when Eve reveals that she designed her costume, and it’s a great funny moment.

Omni-Man

Omni-Man has the best powers, so it’s only natural that he has one of the best costumes. His suit is probably the most similar to DC Superman’s costume, as he is an example of what Superman would be like if he was evil. Omni-Man wears a red and white full-coverage suit, with red gloves, boots, and a long red cape.

The symbol across his chest is the letter “O,” which refers to his superhero name, and it’s a simple but great visual. While the red on his costume is meant to symbolize what great power Omni-Man has, it can also foreshadow how much blood the super-powered being will spill across the series.

Darkwing

Darkwing’s costume is very evocative of DC‘s Batman, though arguably he looks like earlier versions of the character. The dark and light gray colors of the costume give him a dark appearance to match his name, and his gloves and utility belt no doubt help during his super crusades. His long cape is also wonderfully dramatic.

He is also one of the few superheroes who wear a mask. As Atom Eve says, masks aren’t really necessary for most superheroes, so this is a choice for Darkwing, most likely to add to the mysterious nature of the rest of his costume.

Battle Beast

As Battle Beast is one of Invincible‘s best villains, he needs to have a costume to match. He wears a black, red, and gold costume, along with his matching gloves and weapon. These colors reflect his personality perfectly, as he is evil, bloodthirsty, but also has some regality to him, as he is the reigning champion of all his fights. His costume is one you would expect to find on a gladiator, so it matches Battle Beast’s thirst for violence perfectly as he travels worlds to find a worthy opponent. His hair also matches, as he has braids that one would expect to see on Viking warriors.

Rex Splode

Rex’s costume manages to stand out for its colors, which are luminous red and yellow. He looks slightly like a firefighter, which is ironic considering he’s the one making the fiery explosions. Rex’s MCU counterpart is arguably Iron Man, so it makes sense that he is dressed in a similar color scheme.

Rex’s costume is one of the few pieces that aren’t skin tight, probably to help keep his skin away from any damage that his powers can cause. This is why he also wears brown gloves and a mask. He also sports some orange-colored goggles, which are practical, and also add to the fireman vibe of the whole outfit.

War Woman

As War Woman is somewhat based on DC‘s Wonder Woman, it’s easy to see their similarities when it comes to costume, but that doesn’t mean that War Woman’s costume isn’t great in its own right. It is probably the most intricately patterned, with its yellow and burgundy markings across a white-colored bodysuit.

Her headpiece and armbands are also evocative of Wonder Woman, as are the Roman/Greek soldier-inspired elements of the costume, including her weapon. One element that stands out is War Woman’s cape and hair, as the cape adds some dramatic flair, and the braids add some practicality to the costume.

Machine Head

Machine Head’s outfit isn’t exactly a super costume, it’s just a suit, but it manages to stand out. He wears a white three-piece suit, along with a pink tie. White is a risky color to wear, especially when you work in a bloody profession like organized crime, but this suit signifies how Machine Head never expects to get his hands dirty, instead of forcing other people like Titan to do such work.

Of course, his head is what makes his appearance so iconic with its robotic look, and his later use of an auto-tuned voice leads to some hilarious lines coming from the villain.

Black Samson

While Black Samson may arguably have the worst powers in the show, he still has one of the best super costumes. His suit is special because he has managed to make a super-suit that allows him to continue fighting crime after losing his powers. This makes his suit extremely useful when compares to other superhero costumes.

It also looks great, with its orange piping and gold arm and neck braces. He manages to stand out and looks a lot grander than the other members of the new Guardians of the Globe, which makes sense as he is the most experienced member.

Invincible

As the show’s main character, Invincible has to look iconic. He struggles with finding the perfect costume throughout the first season, but when he has his costume figured out, he looks great. He wears a yellow, blue, and black full-coverage bodysuit. He also has a yellow mask that allows his hair to flare out.

Furthermore, his goggles manage to be iconic, as they are built into the mask and shaped almost like bug eyes, making them stand out against other superhero goggles. The costume also has knee and shoulder pads, which gives him a little extra protection, even though he is supposed to be invincible.

Red Rush

As explained by Art Rosenbaum, Red Rush’s costume is very much connected to his name. He wears a red suit, so when he speeds past people, he looks like a red rush. The costume is made interesting with the different shades of red that it has, including the arm and leg stripes, and with the two “R” letters on his chest. He also wears goggles, which stops the wind from blowing into his eyes as he runs.

The red of his suit is also likely a hint to the fact that he is Russian. This factor might have potentially given away his secret identity, but it does work well to create a singular brand identity for the superhero.
