It’s November, which means Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max is finally set to be released. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused problems for many companies, Apple included. Its manufacturing of the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 mini was held up, meaning Apple had to push back the release date for the devices to a few weeks after the release of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.

Apple announced the iPhone 12 series at its October event. The iPhone 12 smartphones are Apple’s first with 5G connectivity. The series features a new industrial design with flat corners rather than the rounded corners seen in previous models. The design is reminiscent of the iPhone 4 and 5 — and is similar to the recent models of the iPad Pro. The iPhone 12 series also includes Ceramic Shield, which Apple claims to be the toughest glass on any smartphone. Ceramic Shield is made from nano-ceramic crystals and Apple promises that it is scratch-resistant and performs four times better than previous iPhones when dropped.

The iPhone 12 Pro was released alongside the iPhone 12 on October 23, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available for pre-order on November 6 and will be arriving for customers from November 13. The iPhone 12 Pro models include a surgical-grade stainless steel band and a matte glass back, rather than the aluminum band and glossy glass back seen on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. But many customers are waiting for the iPhone 12 Max Pro because it is the largest iPhone ever made. The iPhone 12 Pro Max supports a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display, with the highest resolution of any iPhone at nearly 3.5 million pixels.

iPhone 12 Pro Max Has Exclusive Cameras

The iPhone 12 Pro models may feature three rear cameras, but only the iPhone 12 Pro Max has the upgraded lenses. The Ultra-Wide lens has a 120-degree field of view. The Telephoto lens features 65 mm focal length, boasting the optical zoom range of 5x, unlike the 4x optical zoom seen on the iPhone 12 Pro. The Wide lens includes sensor-shift optical image stabilization, with a faster ƒ1.6 aperture, a larger sensor, and bigger 1.7μm pixels for improved low-light performance in photos and videos.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max is definitely the iPhone to buy for consumers seeking the latest and greatest. But it also means paying for the most expensive model. If having a smaller screen is not a big deal, consider purchasing the iPhone 12 Pro instead. The Pro still features powerful three rear cameras for fantastic photos and videos and, more importantly, the 128 GB of base storage. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini have only 64 GB of storage and only two rear cameras.
