Warning! Spoilers for Iron Man #13 by Marvel Comics below

Tony Stark’s deadly quest to stop Korvac from stealing the powers of Galactus’ worldship has led Iron Man to a new potential idea to end the conflict: blowing up Taa II. In a new preview for Iron Man #13, the longtime Avenger meets up with his team from Earth inside Galalactus’ home base and realizes one of his only options to stop Korvac might be by nuking Taa II.

Iron Man has been trying to stop Korvac from acquiring god-like powers, as the villain’s mission to steal cosmic energies from Taa II has reached its climax. After being separated from his friends on a desolate planet across the galaxy, the Living Tribunal sent both Iron Man and Avro-X to Galactus’ home base to stop Korvac. However, upon encountering the android villain, Avro-X was killed in front of Stark. Meanwhile, Iron Man, who was already badly injured and relied on morphine to keep fighting, was hurt even more.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

In a new preview of Iron Man #13 by Christopher Cantwell, Cafu, Frank D’Armata, and VC’s Joe Caramagna, Iron Man watches as Korvac and his group of villains teleports away from the battle. Unfortunately, Tony Stark is in rough shape, as he can barely stand without the assistance of War Machine. Nevertheless, Iron Man is happy to see his unlikely team of heroes survive the trip to Taa II and immediately begins planning their next attack to stop Korvac. He tells War Machine, Halycon and Frog-Man to find a self-destruct option on Taa II, revealing it might be their only chance to stop Korvac from acquiring the Power Cosmic.

Somehow, Stark keeps fighting on and hilariously names his team of heroes the “Space Friends.” Later panels show War Machine, Halycon, and Frog-Man searching for a self-destruct option about Taa-II, where the amphibian-like hero wonders why he’s been sent with the two powerhouses. However, immediately after War Machine tells him it’s because he’s “kind of a liability,” the trio runs into Blizzard.

Iron Man probably would prefer not to mess with Galactus’ worship, but considering Korvac is trying to harness its powers to become a god-like being, causing it to self-destruct might be his only option. However, to blow up Taa-II, the three heroes Tony Stark sent to find the button will have to deal with a powerful supervillain in Blizzard. Meanwhile, Iron Man will have to keep Korvac preoccupied. What possibly could go wrong? Iron Man #13 is in comic book stores next week.
