An animatronic decoration that replicates dead Georgie from last year’s It: Chapter 2 has arrived just in time for Halloween, and it’s just as freaky as you’d expect. Towards the end of It: Chapter 2, there is a sequence where adult Bill is a bystander in a scene from his own childhood. He’s submerged neck-deep in the flooded basement of his childhood home, while he watches his younger self walk down the stairs and talk to his deceased brother Georgie, who stands in the corner of the basement. As young Bill gets closer to Georgie, Georgie’s demeanor starts to change slowly, making the conversation feel much more sinister than it did initially.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

When Georgie starts to scream at young Bill, adult Bill looks at his former self with devastation. When he turns back to face Georgie, his late brother’s face is zombified, with insects slithering out if his eye sockets. The scene is horrifying, but possibly not as disturbing as Georgie’s actual death scene in the first It film. In the opening of It, Pennywise the Dancing Clown rips Georgie’s arm clean off and then pulls him into the sewer.

Party City announced they are now offering an animatronic Halloween decoration based on the scene in the basement from It: Chapter 2. The prop is marketed as “Animated Dead Georgie,” and is available to pre-order via the official Party City website. The decoration contains an LED bulb and 6V A/C adapter, as well as being 50 inches tall and 27 inches wide. On top of having the rotted face from the terrifying basement scene in It: Chapter 2, the dead Georgie animatronic also has a missing arm, and his bloody stump looks almost identical to the character’s actual wound from the 2017 It film.

The frightening puppet’s natural state is to hold a red balloon over its face with its single still attached arm. It can remove the balloon from its face and reveal its horrific state. This Georgie replica doesn’t just move, but it also has a light-up eye. All of the dead Georgie’s actions are accompanied by sounds from the It films, making it all the more unsettling. The “Animated Dead Georgie” will be available to own on September 15th for $159.99.

This prop appears to be a must-own for any fan of the It franchise. Because It is such a modern-day classic, many people will likely be interested in the decoration, so there’s a possibility it could sell out rather quickly. Party City seems to have the right idea about unleashing merchandise associated with hit horror movies for Halloween. If this It: Chapter 2 animatronic is successful, then perhaps Party City can produce other decorations that represent popular, modern-day horror films, like Us or Terrifier.
