It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is a show filled with despicable and unlikable character, and it’s proud of it. While the entire Paddy’s Pub gang is made up of horrible people, the most degenerate of them all is clearly the gang’s oldest member, Frank Reynolds. When introduced on the show, Frank was a successful businessman; however, after several years with this group, he’s turned into a disgusting mad man.

The depravity that Frank is willing to subject himself too is one of the most hilarious aspects of the show, leading to some truly memorable moments. Though it would be terrifying to meet a man like him in real life, he is entertaining to watch. Here are some of the best quotes from It’s Always Sunny that prove Frank Reynolds has lost his mind.

10 “Hi ladies. I’m Frack…S**t.”

There’s no denying that Frank isn’t the most appealing man in the world. He is vulgar, dirty and strange, and yet none of that stops him from pursuing his sex-crazed dreams of being a ladies man. When the group gets into the world of speed dating, Frank is all too keen to join. However, he has a little trouble getting started.

Wanting to keep things simple, he decides to just start by introducing himself to some beautiful women. That proves to be too much for him to handle. When you can’t even get your own name right, it’s probably time to start evaluating some things.

9 Untrustworthy

Like the rest of the gang, Frank is always coming up with some wild and usually illegal schemes. Out of all of them, Frank’s tend to be the most insane – and that’s no easy feat. When it comes to spying on Dennis and Dee’s real father, Frank sneaks into the man’s apartment to plant a listening device. Although, his listening device turns out to be a baby monitor.

If using a baby monitor as such a manner wasn’t crazy enough, Frank apparently thinks that baby monitors are used for people to spy on their untrustworthy babies. The man does not seem to operate in the real world at all.

8 I’M THE THRASH Man

One of the many weird obsessions that the gang gets involved in is hosting a wrestling event in support of the troops. While hardly the charitable group, they get very excited about the idea of creating some classic over-the-top wrestlers like their childhood heroes. Frank is all-too-ready to embrace the villainous role in the ring, but his gimmick is a bit strange.

Dubbing himself as the Trash Man, Frank sports a tight spandex costume and wields a garbage can as a weapon. His plan is to throw trash around the ring and eat it because he thinks that’s what the crowd wants to see for some reason.

If there is a weird, sexual activity on the table, you can bet Frank Reynolds will be into it. When Dennis finds a “glory hole” in the bathroom of Paddy’s Pub, Frank gets very excited by the prospect of some anonymous sexual encounters. With that thought in his mind, Frank is ready to throw caution to the wind.

On the one hand, he makes a fair point. If he’s willing to go this far in pursuit of his perversion, why should he take the time to worry about the safety of it? However, then you have to consider what kind of man would let himself slip to such lows.

6 I’m not gonna be buried in a grave. When I’m dead, just throw me in the trash.

It’s hard to say whether it was the gang who corrupted Frank or if he was always this disgusting. One thing is for sure, those days of living a life of luxury are behind him. Despite still having outrageous wealth, Frank is happy to live in squalor. Normally a humble lifestyle could be commended but, in Frank’s case, he might have sunk too low.

Again, you could potentially find some wisdom in his words. If you’re dead, you might not care what becomes of your body. But for someone to be so blunt about how easily they can be discarded is disturbing. Also throwing a body in the trash is not sanitary at all.

Just as the rest of the gang, their eccentricities tended to grow more severe as the seasons went on. Charlie became more illiterate. Dennis became more psychotic. Finally, Frank became more depraved. In Season 5, Frank decides that with the last remaining years of his life, he’s going to fully embrace his weird side. It’s a prospect that terrifies everyone.

Even in his more calm years, Frank was more out of control than the average person. Indeed, since making this promise, he has further descended into madness and become a lunatic of epic proportions.

4 “I’m Sorry Rum Ham”

The gang has rarely dared to venture outside of their beloved Philly. Whenever they do, they bring their insanity with them. In Season 7, the gang decided to have some summer fun in the Jersey Shore where they quickly made a mess of things. Most preposterous of all was Frank’s disgusting invention of a rum-soaked ham.

As grotesque as that sounds, Frank carries the rum ham around the entire episode with him, growing oddly attached to it. Sadly he loses it in the sea and has to watch as it floats away, calling after it. The only thing crazier than someone crying over a rum ham is someone inventing rum ham in the first place.

3 “Sew Me Into The Couch”

Even a group of heartless people like the gang at Paddy’s Pub can get into the Christmas spirit, albeit in a selfish and destructive way. In the show’s Christmas special, Dennis and Dee decide to give Frank his own taste of A Christmas Carol to show him that people don’t like him. Of course, Frank is strangely excited by the idea.

At a Christmas party in Frank’s old office, they try to have him listen in on people talking bad about him. However, Frank comes up with the idea that it will work better if he hides in the couch. The sight of naked Danny DeVito emerging from the couch is an image we won’t soon forget.

2 You gotta pay the troll toll to get into this boy’s hole.

One of the most memorable episodes of It’s Always Sunny is Charlie’s production of “The Nightman Cometh”, a musical he wrote himself. It is as bizarre as you imagine and the gang pulls it off about as well as you imagine. One of the most memorable aspects is Frank’s troll character who sings about stealing a “boy’s soul”, although his enunciation is a bit alarming.

Even after Charlie points out the error, Frank doesn’t hear his mistake and keeps performing it in the same disturbing way. Of course, it’s possible that Frank was saying it on purpose, but that might be even more disturbing.

The men of It’s Always Sunny have some pretty gross methods for seducing women. Dennis uses a dark method of emotional abuse and manipulation. Charlie is a serial stalker. Frank’s methods are no less offensive, but they are certainly straight-forward.

After learning the DENNIS System, Dennis’ terrifying seduction style, each of the guys try to use it with their own spin. Frank’s entire plan is to “accidentally” drop a large-sized condom and let the woman fill in the blanks. Despite following such a simplistic plan, he manages to mix it up. Although the fact that he suspected it would work says a lot about him.
