Jeremy Renner reveals what his own Avengers-inspired musical song would be titled for his upcoming series Hawkeye. The Academy Award-nominated actor has been playing the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s master marksman since his uncredited cameo appearance in 2011’s Thor. From there, Renner has starred in numerous Avengers flicks as well as Captain America: Civil War. Now, he’s finally getting his time to shine in his own solo outing premiering on November 24 on Disney+.

In the upcoming series, Renner’s Clint Barton is expected to pass the Hawkeye mantle onto his young superfan, Kate Bishop, portrayed by another Oscar-nominated actor, Hailee Steinfeld, who is making her MCU debut. Kate masquerading as Clint’s dark alter-ego Ronin is what draws his attention and causes enemies from his past to reappear, threatening Clint’s desire to have a fun Christmas with his family in New York City. Yet, this doesn’t seem to stop him from sampling some of the local flavor, such as the Broadway show Rogers: The Musical, featuring a number fittingly titled “I Can Do This All Day” in reference to Captain America’s famous catchphrase.

Now, during Renner and Steinfeld’s recent interview with Screen Rant, the Clint Barton actor was asked, hypothetically, what song would headline Hawkeye’s musical if the Avenger ever got his own Broadway show. Renner responded appropriately, “Just Can’t Seem to Miss,” a reference to the golf analogy his character makes in Civil War: “I played 18, I shot 18, just can’t seem to miss,” a suitable mantra for the master archer.

One of the highlights from Hawkeye‘s first trailer was a surprisingly hilarious moment in which Clint takes his kids to see Rogers: The Musical, an in-universe Broadway show that appears to depict the Chitauri invasion and the ensuing Battle of New York, as seen in the 2012 Avengers movie. Other than the titular Steve Rogers, the stage show features many of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hawkeye.

It will be interesting to see how the Avengers themselves have become a part of popular culture within the MCU through Rogers: The Musical, though based on the trailer, it doesn’t appear Clint is too amused by it, seemingly because he actually fought in the Battle of New York and doesn’t like to see it treated so flippantly. Though audiences may never get to see a Hawkeye musical, they will get to experience a bit of Rogers: The Musical when the series premieres on November 24.
