Jersey Shore: Facts About The Engagement Ring Ronnie Gave Saffire

Ronnie Ortiz Magro shocked Jersey Shore: Family Vacation fans earlier this week when he announced that he had proposed to his girlfriend, Saffire Matos. When Ronnie made the announcement two days after the proposal took place, he shared a photo taken moments after he had gotten down on one knee. In the picture, Saffire is facing away from the camera while holding her hand out behind her to reach for Ronnie’s hand. The photo showed off the gorgeous rock that is now Saffire’s new accessory.

Not too long after Ronnie proposed to Saffire, Jersey Shore fans had already been speculating that the couple secretly got engaged. The event planning company that Ronnie had used for his proposal setup posted the same photo that both Ronnie and Saffire later shared to Instagram. Although neither of their faces was seen in the photo, fans put together different clues found on social media to come up with this theory. The company later deleted the post before the couple shared their big news.

After Ronnie and Saffire announced their engagement, they began sharing more photos, some of which gave fans a better look at her massive diamond ring. Kimberly Abruzzo, a gemologist at Rare Carat, gave fans details regarding Saffire’s stunning ring. After taking a closer look at Saffire’s diamond, Kimberly believes the ring looks to be an oval-cut diamond. According to The Diamond Pro, an oval cut “provides excellent brilliance, durability and style.” Kimberly continued by stating that the ring is perceived as being a 4-carat diamond. She said, “I believe this is likely a 4 carat pear-shaped diamond in the colorless range with high clarity.” Take a closer look at Saffire’s ring below.

Saffire’s diamond sits on a white gold band. The band is covered in smaller diamonds, which gemologists refer to as “pave.” Unfortunately, rings of this cut often times can have issues with something called a “bowtie effect.” This is when a dark spot can be seen in the center of the diamond, essentially resembling the shape of a bowtie. Saffire’s ring, however, is perceived as not having this issue. Because the ring does not have the dreaded bowtie effect, its overall price value rises. A ring similar to Saffire’s is typically sold for a hefty price of $150K. No wonder Ronnie has been selling clickbait articles for extra money.

Two months prior to their engagement, Ronnie was arrested for domestic violence allegations. According to law enforcement, Saffire called the police seeking help when an argument between her and Ronnie turned physical. Saffire allegedly had physical signs of abuse upon their arrival. Despite their recent drama, Ronnie and Saffire have been trying hard to prove to fans, and possibly themselves, that they are in fact happy together. Fans are also speculating that Saffire is actually pregnant which would have ultimately pushed the Jersey Shore star to propose.
