Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s ex-girlfriend Jen Harley was charged with a felony and a misdemeanor for domestic violence. On the day of Jen’s original arrest, the duo’s daughter Ariana Sky Magro was home with Ronnie celebrating his engagement to his now-fiancée Saffire Matos in Southern California. After the romantic day on the beach, Ronnie continued his weekend full of love and celebrations by bringing his daughter to Disneyland for Father’s Day.

Jen and Ronnie had a rocky relationship history with the majority of the emotional and physical fights being documented by MTV’s cameras, as well as on both reality stars personal social media pages. Their flame began in July 2017, but quickly turned toxic when the reality star had to leave Jen in the midst of their honeymoon stage to begin filming a new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. As the reality series later revealed, Ronnie had wandering eyes while partying with his roommates that led to a lot of mistrust on Jen’s behalf. As the episodes began to air, the couple consistently insulted one another via social media and allegedly got into a physical altercation while streaming live to fans on Instagram. The consistent fighting ultimately landed in an amicable breakup as they worked together to co-parent their daughter. Throughout the next few months, the former couple got into a few physical altercations that never saw its day in court due to insufficient evidence.

Now, Jen is facing criminal charges from her June domestic violence arrest in Las Vegas. The complaint against the 33-year-old includes one felony count of assault with a domestic weapon constituting domestic violence, and one misdemeanor count of battery constituting domestic violence. Though the allegations are heavy, Jen’s attorney told E! News she’s not guilty. “We believe the charges are unsubstantiated and that overwhelming mitigating evidence exists that Jen did not commit any crime. We look forward to our day in court and having all charges against Ms. Harley dismissed.”

Ronnie wasn’t present for the arrest, but he’s is still dealing with similar legal troubles. Ronnie was arrested in April for intimate partner violence with injury, to which a source told E! the alleged dispute did not involve Jen. The incident led to the LA City Attorney’s office to file a probation violation against the reality star stemming from prior domestic troubles with Jen. Ronnie’s attorneys told E! they will “deal with it accordingly” and revealed he’s getting medical treatment for “psychological issues that he has ignored for a long time. His only present goal is to address these issues professionally and make himself [a] better person and the best father he can be to his loving daughter.”

While reality TV is all about the drama, Jersey Shore fans would prefer to see their favorite reality stars fist-pumping and participating in their daily gym, tan, laundry routine over getting into violent disputes with their partners. These reality stars have grown up in the front of the cameras and in their mid-30s should know better than to act out when they’re still in the public eye. Now that the cast is pretty much all wifed up, it’s about time to focus on the love with more humor and phrases that will change pop culture as we know it.
