Jersey Shore: Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Unveils New Blonde Hair

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino from Jersey Shore is officially seeing if blondes really do have more fun. The typically brown-haired reality TV star recently unveiled his newly-bleached locks on social media and fans have mixed reactions. Over the past few years, Mike has made several drastic changes to his life, including getting sober, marrying the love of his life Lauren and becoming a proud, first-time father to Romeo Reign. Through it all, Jersey Shore viewers have showed much support for “Big Daddy Sitch.” But as for “Blonde Daddy Sitch,” there seems to be a divide.

Since Jersey Shore premiered in 2009, nearly all of the cast members have altered their appearance in some way. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has been vocal about her lip injections and breast enhancements; Jenni “JWoww” Farley has a “laser and injection specialist” and also underwent two breast enhancements; and Angelina Pivarnick had a butt lift in November 2020, among other procedures. As for the guys, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro previously rocked “guy-lights,” much to the amusement of co-star Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio. But in December 2020, Pauly D received much criticism from fans when he decided to dye his signature dark brown blowout platinum blonde.

Now, Mike “The Situation” is the latest Jersey Shore star to reveal a shocking new look. On Instagram, Mike posted a photo (seen below) of himself sporting his fresh blonde hair, alongside his already-blonde wife Lauren and son Romeo. He captioned the post, “Blondes have more fun.” Lauren commented on her husband’s post, “Honey! Blondes do it best. You look like a grown up Romeo now.” In the comment section, Mike wrote, “New hair, who dis,” and “BDS is now Blonde Daddy Sitch.” Lauren shared the same picture on her page and captioned it, “It’s official, the whole family has gone blonde.”

In response to “Blonde Daddy Sitch,” fans didn’t hold back in letting Mike know their thoughts. A number were taken aback but expressed their liking of his hair. One said, “Cute but surprising #blondesdoitbetter,” and another commented, “Why am I VIBING with blonde Sitch?” At the same time, many were critical. Negative comments included, “Oh no that’s gotta go Sitch!,” and “Ooohh noooooooo. You are not a blonde.” Someone even asked if Mike lost a bet. However, Pauly D was excited over his friend’s hair experimentation. He said, “Haha let’s gooo!!!!“

Regardless of whether one prefers Mike as a blonde or brunette, one thing is for sure – he, Lauren and Romeo appear to be happier than ever. Not only did Mike recently celebrate six years of sobriety following a lengthy addiction battle, but he seems to be truly enjoying life as a husband and father. Dying his hair was something he probably did simply for fun. It will be exciting to see firsthand more of Mike’s sweet family moments on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, which has been renewed for a fifth season. Hopefully, the forthcoming episodes will also feature Mike’s major hair transformation, as well as his roomies’ reactions to it that were probably hilarious.
