Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi opted out of partaking in the recent season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation in an effort to spend more time with her family. Now, fans are starting to think her husband Jionni LaValle played a large role in that decision. From what they have seen of him, Jionni has been perceived by fans as being quite controlling over Nicole. The two have been married for nearly seven years.

Nicole and Jionni first met at the Jersey Shore while Nicole was filming for the show. While Nicole seemed uninterested at first, they later hit things off. The early days of their relationship was portrayed on the show, including some nasty fights. Nicole’s spinoff show, Snooki & JWoww, spotlighted their relationship even more as their wedding was portrayed on it as well as the births of their first two kids. Since the end of Jersey Shore, Jionni has opted out of being in the spotlight with Nicole, even refusing to take photos with her. Nicole recently shocked fans when she posted photos alongside her hubby which she called a rare sighting.

Jionni may be the actual reason Nicole did not return to the spinoff show. Longtime viewers of the show feel as though Jionni is quite controlling over Nicole. While they got this impression during the original series, the spinoff series seemed to verify their speculations. During the first season of the spinoff series, Snooki was noticeably terrified to even look at Vinny let alone speak to him. She would not even allow him to sit next to her in the car. While many fans found the situation to be blown out of proportion, others are putting the blame on Jionni. It has been assumed that Jionni had a serious talk with Nicole prior to her returning to the show due to her romantic history with Vinny. The scene was actually hard to watch for some viewers.

Aside from avoiding Vinny to the best of her ability, Nicole has also become more reserved in the way she dresses. After the first season of the spinoff, Nicole not only began to cover up more, she also began to tone down her antics. She rarely reverted back to her wild days by getting belligerently drunk during a night out. Nicole also would never wear just a bathing suit at the beach or by the pool. She would always be covered up to some extent. Throughout the episodes, Nicole was perceived as constantly being on edge, worrying she would do something wrong.

Whether Jionni did in fact talk to Nicole and set rules for her prior to returning to the show or not, fans are convinced that Nicole was always worried about upsetting him. In the original series, Jionni had made it known that he did not like Nicole’s wild side. He would always make her feel bad for getting drunk and being her crazy self. Perhaps Nicole left the show to avoid any more conflicts with her husband. Although she was not a part of season 3 of the show nor the cast’s recent trip to the mountains, Nicole was spotted filming a lunch date with Angelina which is assumed to be for the upcoming season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
