Judy Greer confirms in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant she hasn’t been contacted for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania but is very eager to return. The plot details for the third installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise are still being kept largely under wraps, though the villain is confirmed to be Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror, who made his pseudo debut in Loki as He Who Remains. The film will feature the returns of Paul Rudd, Hope Van Dyne, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer.

The cast for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will also see a shift as Freaky star Kathryn Newton is set to portray Cassie Lang, the titular hero’s daughter, replacing Emma Fuhrmann from the older appearance in Avengers: Endgame. The script for the film was put into development during the ongoing pandemic with Rick and Morty alum Jeff Loveness attached to pen. As principal production officially got underway in July, it appears another franchise star may not be coming back.

While speaking with Screen Rant exclusively for her return as Karen Nelson in Halloween Kills, Greer opened up about her potential return for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The Archer star stated she still hasn’t been contacted to appear in the film, jokingly noting she’s “terrible” at keeping secrets but expressing an eagerness to come back to the MCU. See what Greer said below:

“I haven’t been told anything so I guess I’m not in it. I’m actually not, I’m terrible at [keeping secrets]. I always tell people like, ‘Just don’t tell me if you don’t want me to tell everyone.’ No one has contacted me and feel free to print that, that I’m very available and very willing to go.”

This isn’t the first time Greer has stated she hasn’t been contacted for the MCU threequel, with the actress having told Business Insider she was keeping her fingers crossed for a potential return. With seven months having passed since this statement and principal photography for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania having begun in July, one wouldn’t be mistaken for thinking the time to have called Greer for a reprisal of her role as Scott’s ex and Cassie’s mom has passed. However, with the film expected to shoot all the way to next year in both Atlanta and San Francisco, there is certainly plenty of time for director Peyton Reed to reach out Greer to bring her back into the fold.

Greer also isn’t the only franchise star to confirm they haven’t been called back for the threequel, with Bobby Cannavale having stated late last year he wasn’t sure if he would be returning for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Given the Quantum Realm nature of the plot and its multiverse villain, Reed and Loveness may have concluded Greer and Cannavale’s characters wouldn’t quite fit into the plot, though with another actress taking over the role of Cassie, it would certainly make sense to include the two in even a minor capacity. Only time will tell when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on February 17, 2023.
