Kevin Can F**k Himself is due to leave AMC after its upcoming season 2. The dark comedy series premiered back in June to a mostly positive reception and currently holds an 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The show’s title serves as an ode to the 2016 sitcom, Kevin Can Wait, which starred Kevin James and was heavily criticized for portraying the lead character’s wife (Erinn Hayes) as disposable. Intended to challenge the old-fashioned gender tropes of sitcoms, Kevin Can F**k Himself stars Emmy Award winner Annie Murphy as Allison Devin-McRoberts, a bored and neglected housewife who decides to take back control of her life.

Now, according to TVLine, Kevin Can F**k Himself will officially leave AMC after the conclusion of season 2. The show, which was renewed back in August, is due to air an additional eight episodes, though an official release date has yet to be announced. A representative for the network reportedly confirmed news of the cancellation.

Created by Valerie Armstrong, Kevin Can F**k Himself utilizes both single and multi-camera setups to explore the contrasting life of Allison. Switching between her stereotypical sitcom marriage to the titular character Kevin (played by Eric Petersen), and her obviously unhappy private life, Allison begins to realize the toxic nature of their relationship and conspires to murder him. Picking up from the dramatic season 1 finale, the second season will deal with the aftermath of Allison’s confrontation with her neighbor Neil (Alex Bonifer), and the intervention of his wife, Patty (Mary Hollis Inboden).
