Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Kevin Smith finally reveals his cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Smith is most known for his View Askewniverse, many of which he also starred in, including Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Mallrats. And of course, Smith is a comic book fanatic and a die-hard Star Wars fan.

With the popularity of the Star Wars franchise, everybody would love the opportunity to have a cameo role in the films. Most of the Star Wars films have several celebrity cameos, even though you wouldn’t recognize them most of the time. For example, Simon Pegg was unrecognizable as Unkar Plutt in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as well as Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Slowen Lo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker continued the fun by giving Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran roles as Stormtroopers, and Lin-Manuel Miranda a role as a Resistance fighter. Composer John Williams also got a role as Oma Tres and director J.J. Abrams voiced the loveable droid D-O. Now, Smith says that he does indeed appear in the film.

For a while, fans had been wondering if he had a cameo in the film, but Smith recently confirmed on Facebook that he plays a “bundled-up local” that is walking with a cyborg on the planet Kijimi. Smith further explains in his heartfelt post that Abrams offered him the role after Smith suffered his heart attack, saying that if he lived, he was going to get a role in the film. While several people had secret cameos in the film, even more actors from past films made a return for the end of the Skywalker saga. Harrison Ford made a surprise appearance as Han Solo as his son turns to the light side, Warwick Davis returns as Wicket, and Denis Lawson as Wedge Antilles. The voices of several Jedi can also be heard at the end of the film when Rey is fighting Palpatine, including Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson), and Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson), and several others. Even the fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano’s voice can be heard among the other Jedi.

Smith previously said he didn’t appear in The Rise of Skywalker, but that has now been revealed to be untrue. Smith has been a huge Star Wars fan ever since 1977 so he was no doubt ecstatic to be included in not one, but two of the films in the sequel trilogy. Smith also voiced a Storm Trooper in The Force Awakens. Only a handful of other cameo roles are known at this time, but more reveals will surely surface once Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has been out a bit longer.
