Kevin Smith has teased some brutal showdowns between He-Man and Skeletor/Skelegod in Masters of the Universe: Revelation season 2. The sequel series to the popular 1980s cartoon released its first season on Netflix on July 23, bringing He-Man, Teela, Mer-Man, Tri-Klops, Scare Glow, and the rest of the original crew back with some stunning modern animation. Masters of the Universe: Revelation season 2/part 2 is nearing the end of its production, though no official release date has been announced at this time.

Though excitement was high among Masters of the Universe fans prior to the premiere of Revelation, the show has wound up being quite divisive. Part 1 holds an impressive 95 percent certified fresh rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, and many fans have praised Revelation’s furthering of the original cartoon’s story. The voice cast, animation, and action have all received a positive reception from many viewers, but there is a vocal sect of other fans who have expressed major frustration with the series. That negative feedback has been focused on the decentralization of He-Man/Prince Adam in the actual story of Revelation, and it’s manifested in the form of a review-bombing campaign on the show’s Rotten Tomatoes audience score.

In the wake of Revelation part 1 releasing on Netflix, Smith has teased some new details about what’s to come in season 2. Taking to Twitter, he revealed that there will be at least two more showdowns between He-Man and Skeletor in Masters of the Universe: Revelation part 2, saying that both will be brutal. Hopefully, the knowledge that more central He-Man action is coming can help appease the fans who are so disappointed by season 1. Check out Smith’s tweet below:

Since Revelation was announced as a two-part series, it makes sense that a lot of part 1 is setup for what’s to come in part 2. Now that Skeletor has grown into the even more powerful being Skelegod, it will take the combined might of every hero in the story to take him down. That includes He-Man, of course, and it sounds like his battles in part 2 should really be something to see.

It’s unclear as of now if Masters of the Universe: Revelation could continue beyond the end of season 2. The show was pitched as a proper finale to the ‘80s cartoon, which doesn’t necessarily mean there will be a lot more seasons. However, if the show does well enough, it seems likely that Netflix would order more. At the very least, it sounds like Masters of the Universe: Revelation will have some great fights between He-Man and Skeletor.
