Kim Kardashian Is ‘Doing So Great’ After Being Declared Legally Single

Life has been chaotic for The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian during her turbulent divorce from Kanye West but peace seems to be on the horizon after Kim was declared legally single in early March 2022. Kim filed for divorce from Kanye in February 2021 after several months of separation, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The pair initially amicably co-parented their four children, North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. Kim submitted a request to be declared legally single in December 2021 after conflicts escalated between her and the “Donda” rapper. The court hearing determining Kim’s request took place on March 2, resulting in the former Keeping Up With The Kardashians star gaining legally single status.

Tension initially rose in November shortly after Kim began seriously dating comedian Pete Davidson after hosting Saturday Night Live. The new fling resulted in Kanye becoming increasingly critical of Kim’s parental choices and dating life. Kanye took to Twitter and Instagram for numerous social media rants discussing how he felt Kim was withholding time from his children and made several posts against Pete, who he calls “Skete.” Kanye has only become more critical of Pete over time, most recently releasing a music video for his diss track against Pete called “Eazy.” The video depicts disturbing imagery of Pete being tied up and buried with lyrics threatening the comic. Kim has leveraged Kanye’s online behavior as a cause for expediting her divorce, describing his actions as emotionally distressing as she attempts to have a low-profile divorce proceeding. Despite Kanye’s objections against Kim’s petition for single status, Kim is now technically a single woman as she dates the King of Staten Island star.

According to an eyewitness reporting to E!, Kim’s stressful divorce seems to be lightening up after their most recent court hearing. After being granted legally single status on Wednesday, Kim made her first public appearance as a single lady at the grand opening of Revolve’s Social Club on Thursday night. Kim attended the event solo, surprising guests as she strolled in wearing an iconic all-leather Balenciaga ensemble. The eyewitness source revealed that when asked how Kim was doing, the SKIMS founder said, “I’m doing so great!”

The source continued by explaining that, “Kim looked stunning and was so sweet to everyone. Kim was smiling the entire time. She appeared relaxed and happy to be there.” Kim’s joyful demeanor is a welcomed change compared to the tension she’s dealt with amid her difficult divorce process. Between Kanye’s explosive social media posts and procrastinating legal actions, Kim hasn’t spent much time in the spotlight in recent months as she carefully navigates the separation. As soon as she was granted legal status on Wednesday, she dropped the last name “West” from her Instagram account.

Divorce is a time-consuming and stressful process for any couple, but the high profile of the Kardashians means that all eyes are on Kim and Kanye as they separate. Kanye’s actions have only become more chaotic, especially regarding Kim’s new relationship with Pete. Kanye is seemingly handling this divorce carelessly as he works with his fifth attorney in the past year and continues to make rude comments about Kim and her love life. Hopefully, now that Kim is officially legally single, she can move on from this chapter and focus on the positives in her life. Based on her most recent behavior, peace is on the way.
