Kim Kardashian. Perhaps the biggest star to come out of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. You love to hate her. You hate to love her. But there is no arguing that the mother, business boss, and fashion mogul is dominating on TV, on the red carpet, and on social media.

From photoshop fails to downright wrong, we’ve compiled a list of the KUWTK star’s worst social media pictures over the years. Scroll through for some of the reality TV star’s most embarrassing or scandalizing social media slip-ups.

Insider has compiled a list of the sister-clan’s worst photoshop slip-ups. Hair shape, waist size, and eye color have all fallen victim to airbrushing and contorting. Fans are always quick to call out abnormal-looking posts, prompting even retail giant Calvin Klein to release a statement regarding their Fall 2018 Kardashian family ad.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

The Naked Selfie

In March 2016, Kim almost broke the internet with a naked selfie she posted to her Twitter account. The photo came with the text: “When you’re like I have nothing to wear LOL.” Many were quick to laugh and create parodies of the photo, will several others shamed and named her behavior as a negative influence on youth. Kardashian was not bothered. Speaking on the Redcode podcast, Kim said, “If you are conservative and that’s how you are comfortable, more power to you. I respect you. You don’t have to look at what I do.”

Black Face

Photos posted to her social media show Kimmy sporting a much darker look, raising questions that she had severely darkened her skin in her latest KKW Beauty campaign. Fans were quick to snap back at the business owner. In an interview with The New York Times, Kim addressed the blackface blunder. She attributed her dark look to a stellar tan and faulty studio lighting. However, she took responsibility for the photos, saying, “We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely, I have learned from it.”

In this photo, fans highlighted Kourtney’s abnormally small right arm. In their statement, Klein attributes the deformity to lighting and social media’s low resolution. The campaign, which was released in 2018, was shot by photographer Willy Vanderperre.

Ultra Flop

Just a month later, Kim posted a photo to her Instagram that showed her sporting yet another completely different look…and nose and eye color? Her hairstylist Chris Appleton’s version of the picture looks different. In the original photograph, her nose is less contorted and her eyes are set a bit wider. Her eye color is also darker color than the hazel in the picture she posted. The photo was meant to promote her Ultra Light Beams lipgloss collection.

Heavenly Hiccups

And just a month later, Kim fell victim to the photoshop fail. In October 2018, Kim posted the photo above to her Instagram account. The photo, which features her son Chicago, is part of a campaign for her KKW Beauty, Flashing Lights Collection. Followers were quick to point out the bumps and lumps (abnormally) making up her left arm.

Neutrals and No-No’s

In January 2020, Kim posted this mirror selfie of her and husband, Kanye West. Dressed up, she is in stiletto heels, and a skin-tight metallic mini skirt with a neutral crop top. Followers were quick to point out the curve in the door where Kim’s hips are, indicating that she had photoshopped her waist and played with her proportions.

Do you see something off in this erotic shot shared on Kim’s Instagram in May of this year? The shot shows Kim with her back to the photographer, and her arms up on the wall. The star is soaked in snake-print, from her head to her toes (or, at least, her toenails.) If you zoom in to the top right of the photo, you see remnants of what appears to be her hands on her head. Seemingly, she couldn’t get the shot she wanted and had to make do with photoshopping her parts together to create a campaign-worthy shot. The public is used to seeing the Kardashians airbrushed and made up, due to their heavy work in the makeup, beauty, and modeling world. However, many fans still question the need to photoshop and edit their personal photos. In general, there is speculation as to what is shared on the ladies’ social media platforms.

In 2016, Kardashian was tied up and robbed at gunpoint in Paris. She says this traumatizing experience really changed the way she uses and interacts with social media; she no longer posts in real-time. According to Business Insider, Kim says: “I learned from a bad experience I had when I was robbed that people really knew my every move,” Kardashian said. “They knew what I had, they knew where I was, what I was doing, and that to me really changed the things that I post.” She goes on to say that the mental health effects of social media are real and livid. Platforms such as Facebook and Instagram have been in touch with her to ask her opinion and discuss alterations to enhance the user’s experience. She is not a stranger to this topic.

Kim has experienced insecurity and perpetuating negative thoughts due to her public image. Opening up to People Magazine, she revealed that she has experienced major body dysmorphia and debilitating anxiety when it comes to interacting with the public. These negative emotions and self-images were set off after photos surfaced of her vacationing in Mexico. The Internet, blogs, and social media all play a role in influencing individuals, both positively, and in this case, extremely negatively.

Kim is definitely one to turn to when it comes to influencing. Brands are always looking to strike a deal with her or one of her famous sisters. She can make a whopping 500,000$ for one sponsored or branded post on Instagram. Let’s hope she, along with her famous sisters, cool off on the photoshop. Social media is a place to show the real, although we are not sure how real Kim’s posts always are.
