Here’s every contestant who competed in King Of The Nerds season 2, plus who was crowned the winner. TBS reality TV show King Of The Nerds is inspired by 1980s flick Revenge Of The Nerds and hosted by two of its stars – Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong, who played college geeks Lewis Skolnick and Dudley “Booger” Dawson in the teen comedy. The series sees self-professed geeks and nerds from across the USA come together to compete in a range of tasks that prove they are the nerdiest of all the nerds in the land.

The second season of King Of The Nerds aired in 2014 and was filmed at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. As with its first season, the reality show had contestants compete as teams in challenges known as “Nerd Wars,” after which the losing team selected two of its members to go head-to-head in an elimination round called the “Nerd-Off” with the loser leaving the contest. The “Nerd War” and “Nerd-Off” challenges featured typically geeky tasks like building a robot fit to survive a game of dodgeball, taking part in a spelling bee or competing in a debate over which is better – Star Trek or Star Wars.

Kelsey Syers, a Japanophile hailing from Georgia, was the first contestant eliminated from King Of The Nerds season 2 after failing a Quidditch-inspired duel and was swiftly followed by gaming vlogger and Pokémon expert Josh Wittenkeller. Gamer Xander Jeanneret, historian Brian Davidson and bioengineer Jack Hou all made it to the final but it was rocket scientist Kayla LaFrance that won season 2 after defeating runner-up Jack in the final “Nerd-Off” challenge. For her troubles, Kayla took home the title of King of the Nerds and a cash prize of $100,000.

Unfortunately, King Of The Nerds proved to be a short-lived series. Although the reality show aired a third season in early 2015, it was cancelled by TBS later that year due to a lukewarm reception and falling ratings. King Of The Nerds also spawned a British adaptation that was similarly short-lived, lasting for just one season.
