In anticipation of the new Re:Mind DLC, Kingdom Hearts 3 has released a new update 1.07. Contained within this update is fan-favorite Oblivion and Oathkeeper Keyblades. Obtaining these legendary Keyblades will require a bit of work for the player but the reward is well worth the effort due to the dual-wielding possibilities of the blades.

Teased in the Re:Mind DLC trailer, the Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades were originally thought to be added only by purchasing the new DLC. This new surprise update added the two blades for free. As with anything free though, players have some hoops to jump through to obtain them. This guide will outline the steps needed to access these legendary Keyblades.

Obtaining Oblivion Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3

Players will need to obtain the Proof Of Time Past page inside of Kingdom Hearts 3 to access the Oblivion Keyblade. To do this, they must complete the game on the over-the-top difficulty, Critical Mode. This is no easy task, as Critical Mode creates the hardest version of any Kingdom Hearts game ever. Enemies can, and will, destroy an unprepared player. Guards and dodges are essential to survival in this new mode.

The payoff will be sweet though as access to the Oblivion Keyblade also grants Sora his Dark Form which is similar to the player’s Anti-form.

Obtaining Oathkeeper Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 3

To collect the Oathkeeper Keyblade, players must obtain the Proof of Promises page. While much less difficult than the requirement for Oblivion, the Proof of Promise page is still a long and meticulous task. To access this Legendary Keyblade the player must find and take a picture of all 90 Hidden Mickeys throughout the entire game.

This is a massive undertaking as many of the worlds in Kingdom Hearts 3 are so large and sprawling. It’s easiest to take on one world at a time and utilize online guides. Once complete, players will obtain the amazing Oathkeeper Keyblade.

Dual-Wielding Keyblades in Kingdom Hearts 3

Just like Roxas in Kingdom Hearts 358/2, Sora will have access to the Dual Wield Form once the two Keyblades are obtained. This gives Sora the power to wield both the Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblade at the same time. These massive damage dealers in conjunction create one powerful version of Sora.

The effort needed to access these blades is well worth the reward. It will give players quite an advantage as they set off to adventure in the new Re:Mind DLC.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is available on Xbox One and Playstation 4.
