Eternals star Kit Harington would love to reunite with Game of Thrones co-star Emilia Clarke in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After playing Jon Snow on eight seasons of the HBO fantasy series, Harington traded in novels for comics in selecting his next big franchise, joining the cast of Chloé Zhao’s new Marvel movie. Eternals had its official premiere in October and is finally hitting theaters today, November 5.

Despite spending several years in the spotlight while on Game of Thrones, Harington had no hesitation joining the MCU, and he looks set to be in for the long haul. The English actor plays Dane Whitman in Eternals, a Natural History Museum employee and boyfriend of the Eternal Sersi, who fans immediately clocked as the eventual superhero Black Knight. While producer Nate Moore has said Harington won’t don that identity in this film, his introduction signals him as someone to watch going forward, as he could be in for big things down the line.

That kind of long-term commitment could mean Harington crosses paths with Clarke, his Game of Thrones castmate, which he tells THR would be pretty exciting for him. Unlike Richard Madden, who appears with him in Eternals, he and the Daenerys Targaryen actor shared many scenes together, and he says to meet up again in a completely new franchise would be mind-blowing. When asked if they had prepared for the possibility, he admits they haven’t, though they would probably laugh about it if it ever came to pass:

No, we haven’t. That would slightly blow my mind, I think, because me and Emilia had a lot together. So if we ended up crossing paths in a different franchise, I think we’d have a good old giggle about that.

While Marvel fans are comfortable in their certainty that Harington will become Black Knight, Clarke’s MCU role remains shrouded in mystery. She shared not too long ago that she’d been cast in the Disney+ series Secret Invasion, which adapts the Skrull-focused Marvel comics storyline of the same name. Samuel L. Jackson will star as his long-time role Nick Fury, while Ben Mendelsohn returns as Talos, a leader of the shape-shifting aliens who was first introduced in Captain Marvel. Kingsley Ben-Adir has been cast as the show’s main villain, while Clarke and Oscar-winner Olivia Colman’s parts have not yet been disclosed.

While Harington and Clarke would surely get a kick out of sharing the screen again, the Game of Thrones reunion would also probably be just as mind-blowing for viewers, who couldn’t help but mentally relive the histories of their former characters. On the one hand, the publicity of bringing the two actors together again would be an easy win for Marvel, which certainly isn’t above that kind of fan-service. On the other, however, reminding everyone that Daenerys and Jon had a romantic relationship while unwittingly aunt and nephew might not be the kind of publicity they want for the notoriously chaste MCU. For now, fans hoping for more Game of Thrones reunions will have to be content with Stark children Harington and Madden acting together again in Eternals.
