In September Tyga, ex of Kylie Jenner of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, announced he would be joining OnlyFans, a platform where users can subscribe to content creators for an array of content. Most of OnlyFans is NSFW, with adult content creators, sex-workers, and strippers turning to the platform with the COVID outbreak. So, we’ve got to ask: how much is Tyga making on OnlyFans?

OnlyFans has risen to fame fast! The platform, which was name-dropped in Megan the Stallion’s and Beyonce’s remix of “Savage,” has seen many new users and content creators since. Tyga is one of many celebrities that have debuted an account.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Tyga announced that “[he] got fans” via a post on Instagram, which featured a trailer of his account content. It basically looked like a big naked party, with lots of beautiful women dancing in revealing lingerie and eating fruit. According to Insider, Tyga is currently charging his subscribers $20 a month to watch him partying with sexy, naked women. He is continuously sharing teasers of his OnlyFans content on Instagram. Seems like no clothes allowed.

Other celebrities that have joined the platform include Blac Chyna, Cardi B, and most recently Amber Rose. Bella Thorne, who made an account earlier this summer, was the first person ever to make $1 million in a single day. She literally broke the platform, creating so much traffic on her page that the app crashed! By her second week on OnlyFans, she had raked in $2 million total. Many sex workers and conventional OnlyFans users and content creators have criticized the recent increase in celebrity traffic on the platform. While many celebrities are advertising their newly-made OF accounts, those already on the sites are complaining of a monopoly on followers and where subscribers’ resources are being allocated. Bella Thorne received major criticism for damaging sex workers’ well-being.Her page, which boasts 50,000 followers, is a big issue to sex workers that were hit hard by the pandemic. Many users vocalised their concerns on Twitter. The main takeaway is that individuals that earn their livelihood through creating content for OF believe that the platform was never meant for stars that already have a huge following and net worth.

However, OF is not solely dedicated to NSFW content. On the other hand, the platform is used by many artists to promote their work BTS, and share snippets of their personal lives and teasers of their work with dedicated and paying fans. Artists and celebrities have also been financially affected by the pandemic and can be turning to subscription sites like OF to stay relevant.
