Minecraft fans on Reddit are being treated to photos of yet another stunning build in progress, this time of America’s own Sin City, Las Vegas. While the replica is still in development, a recent progress photo should excite any fans of detailed Minecraft cityscapes.

Complex in-game structures are nothing new to Minecraft fans. Since its release back in 2011, Minecraft has hosted innumerable city recreations, 3D self-portraits, fantastical castles, and anything else its players have dreamt up. Minecraft’s sprawling and emergent gameplay systems have allowed creative gamers to put together breathtaking pieces through the game’s Creative Mode, which allows for unrestrained movement throughout the map and unlimited access to all resources.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

A recent example of one of these breathtaking pieces comes from Redditor bubbaflubba2. In a post made to the Minecraft subreddit on July 2, 2021, bubbaflubba2 updated fans on their upcoming Las Vegas replica. The screenshot specifically displays an image of a painstakingly detailed Bellagio casino and courtyard, complete with the hotel’s iconic and dramatic fountains. A lot can be done with Minecraft‘s Redstone to create interactive mechanisms, so fans will have to wait and see if this water feature is functional.

Various other structures, including the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Garden, can also be seen in bubbaflubba2’s high-resolution screenshot. With so many incredible and massive buildings displayed in just this one screenshot, some Minecraft enthusiasts might be wondering about the possibility of replicated interiors. While the image in question certainly shows a level of dedication and talent on bubbaflubba2’s part, anyone expecting to see an equivalent recreation of these buildings’ interiors will likely be disappointed; the real-life Bellagio hotel has almost four thousand suites and one of the biggest, busiest casino floors in the country, making for a building job that might be too tough even for the most skilled Minecraft artists. That said, custom procedural generation in Minecraft has come a long way, so it’s hard to say what is possible.

Unfortunately, no further details or explanations accompany the screenshot at the time of writing, leaving many fans wondering about the scope and specifics of bubbaflubba2’s Minecraft Las Vegas project. The user will ostensibly continue to add to this lifelike in-game city, though whether they will stop after The Strip or keep going is anyone’s guess. With incredible attention to architectural detail, lush foliage, and an obvious show of passion and enthusiasm, this Las Vegas build will be one to watch for Minecraft fans.
