Five new Halloween-inspired League of Legends skins will help players get into the spooky fall season. Riot Games’ online battle arena title lets players take control of more than 140 unique champions. The developer is constantly updating and expanding the game, making League of Legends an ever-evolving title that constantly keeps fans on their toes.

In the modern age of online games, developers are able to update games based on current events and upcoming holidays. The fall season is a particularly popular time for celebration in the video game industry, with developers introducing seasonal or Halloween-themed content into their online titles. Pokémon GO events throughout October will serve to celebrate this spooky time of year by adding thematic raids and Research Breakthroughs with Ghost-type Pokémon. October’s Research Breakthrough will focus on the bizarre Yamask, while raids will spotlight scary creatures like Gengar or Darkrai.

League of Legends‘ 11.20 patch notes have been revealed by Riot Games, and the update will bring with it some Halloween-themed treats. The patch, set to drop on October 6, will include some minor tweaks and changes for various heroes. However, the highlight of 11.20 comes in the form of several Halloween-themed “Bewitching” cosmetic items for multiple playable champions. Characters Nami, Fiora, Morgana and Syndra are dressed as classical witches, while the catlike Yuumi is given a jack-o-lantern for a head. The Bewitching skins will be available in-game starting October 7.

Since launching in 2009, League of Legends has received free support from Riot Games in the form of updates and expansions. The game’s newest champion is Vex, an animalistic Yordle mage who utilizes a shadowy companion during combat. Vex’s grumpy personality complements her adorable appearance, and her small stature similarly conceals her massive, magical prowess. Vex can fire the shadow creature as a projectile with Mistral Bolt, allowing her to take out multiple enemies if they are grouped together. Meanwhile, Personal Space is an area-of-effect attack that also grants Vex a shield, giving her a highly defensive play style.

By constantly updating League of Legends, Riot Games creates opportunities to help the battle arena’s player base remains interested. New champions, or reworking old champions, provides dramatic changes to the balance and flow of the title. However, simply adding new cosmetics also makes sure that the title stays fresh and relevant over time. The new Bewitching skins give thematic and matching looks for several of League of Legends‘ warriors.
