Vex is the newest champion added to League of Legends, and she has immediately made waves in the Mid lane as one of the most powerful casters available. Her combination of passive crowd control, high burst damage, and a powerful, refundable ultimate make her a force to be reckoned with. Additionally, she offers extra utility against Mid lane opponents that are used to being able to dash or leap to kill squishy casters.

So, not only is League of Legends’ newest champion an extremely potent mage, but she is also strong against champions that would normally counter squishy casters. As a result, learning how to play and build on Vex can help players win more games until she inevitably gets nerfed into submission. She is currently one of the best Mid-laners in the game, so there is no time like the present.

If players want an easy way to make enemy teams rage in League of Legends all chat (as long as it is still here), this Vex build is a great way to do so. It may even earn some profanities from League of Legends teammates who were hoping to get their own kills in team fights.

Best Build for Vex in League of Legends

As of now, this League of Legends build has the highest win rate for Vex in the Mid lane, which is her most common role. It focuses almost entirely on amplifying Vex’s burst damage, with a couple of utility items to ensure that she can cut through Magic Resist and save herself with invulnerability if she jumps a bit too deep into a fight.

Here are the runes for the build:

  • Main Runes: Electrocute, Taste of Blood, Eyeball Collection, Ultimate Hunter
  • Secondary Runes: Manaflow Band, Transcendence
  • Stat Bonuses: Attack Speed, Adaptive Force, Armor

Here are the items that must be built, and the rough order in which they should be:

  • Starting Items: Doran’s Ring, Health Potion
  • First Item: Luden’s Tempest
  • Boots: Sorcerer’s Shoes
  • Second Item: Horizon Focus
  • Other Items (Build order can vary): Zonya’s Hourglass, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Void Staff/Morellonomicon

With this build, Vex will have an incredibly powerful burst of damage, capable of deleting most of her lane matchups in League of Legends with ease. She will be able to fly around with her ultimate and execute entire groups of enemies. Most of the items are pretty fixed in their place, with the exception being the choice between Void Staff and Morellonomicon. That choice is made by what the enemy team is building. If they have a lot of Magic Resist, build Void Staff. If they have a lot of healing or life-steal, build Morellonomicon.

League of Legends is available on PC and MacOS.
