The Legend of Vox Machina, the new animated series based on the beloved tabletop streaming show Critical Role premieres on January 28th, and here’s every Critical Role character appearing. For longtime fans of Critical Role and newcomers to the franchise, the show will be the fan base’s collective first step into a brand-new version of the fictional realm of Exandria and the show’s extended universe. With the original cast all executive producing The Legend of Vox Machina, many characters (including the original core cast) from Critical Role are set to return for the new series.

Beginning in 2015, Critical Role first began streaming midway through their first Dungeons & Dragons campaign and became a staple for the D&D community, and the characters and storylines of that campaign provide the basis for The Legend of Vox Machina. In the first campaign, viewers follow the tale of the adventuring party known as Vox Machina (Latin for Voice Machine, a nod to the core cast’s voice acting roots), a group of mercenaries turned legendary heroes as they battle against evil on the fictional continent of Tal’Dorei. The party also included many auxiliary members played by guests on the stream and Critical Role’s resident game master Matthew Mercer.
