Legends: Arceus – Every Frenzied Noble Pokémon, Ranked By Difficulty

Pokémon Legends: Arceus completely shook up the fundamentals of the Pokémon franchise, and instead of classic Pokémon Gyms, its bosses are the five Frenzied Noble Pokémon that serve as Hisui’s protectors. The mysterious Space-Time Rift has caused the Lords and Ladies of the Diamond and Pearl Clans to lash out and become aggressive, and it’s up to the player to calm them all. These part-action, part-turn-based combat battles not only require players to train a strong team of Pokémon, but they also challenge trainers to use the skills they learn on their adventure to dodge attacks and throw soothing balms until the Noble Pokémon calm down.

The Noble Pokémon of the Hisui region are said to be blessed by a mysterious power in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which earned them the respect of the Diamond and Pearl Clans. Each Noble Pokémon has a Warden that serves as its guardian, and players will have to work together with the Wardens and the Galaxy Expedition Team to quell their Frenzied state. In addition to the five Nobles that have been struck with this strange Frenzy, trainers can summon five other Nobles as Ride Pokémon that will carry them across the region’s various terrains.

However, the difficulties of these new boss battles vary greatly, and calming the Frenzied Noble Pokémon is no easy feat even for the most seasoned Pokémon trainers. While the fights start off relatively easy, they rapidly increase in difficulty as players make their way through the five major areas of the region. From the easiest to the most challenging, these are the five Noble Pokémon that players will face in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

#5 Kleavor Is The Least Difficult Noble Pokémon In Legends: Arceus

As the first Noble Pokémon players encounter in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the Lord of the Woods is the easiest of the five to defeat. Kleavor takes a long time to charge his attacks, giving players plenty of time to dodge before he makes a move. He follows his trajectory once he’s locked on, and players can lure him into stunning himself by running into the tree in the center of the battlefield. Kleavor is a Bug/Rock-type Pokémon, which covers for some of the weaknesses most Rock-type Pokémon have. Still, this Noble can be countered by a Water-type or Rock-type, both of which can be caught in the Obsidian Fieldlands by the time trainers encounter the Frenzied Kleavor.

This boss fight happens relatively early on in the game, and while the novelty of this new style of combat may give Pokémon Legends: Arceus players some trouble, the fight becomes easy after getting into the rhythm of it. Overall, it’s an easy fight, and Noble Kleavor is a great introduction to the new style of boss battle Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduced. It’s not too difficult, but players will still need to use all the mechanics they’ve learned so far to calm the Lord of the Woods.

#4 Lilligant Is An Easy Boss Battle In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Hisuian Lilligant is the second Noble Pokémon players face in Legends: Arceus, and while this boss fight is similar to the battle against Kleavor in terms of difficulty, it does introduce some new elements that make it slightly harder. Rather than charging at the player, Noble Lilligant will spring into the air and drop down on trainers from above, unleashing an area-of-effect attack. Her attacks aren’t too hard to dodge, but they do require players to have more precise timing than the Noble Kleavor battle.

However, Hisuian Lilligant’s Grass/Fighting Type does give it several resistances that can make it more difficult to face once players send their Pokémon into battle. It’s resistant to Ground, Water, Grass, Electric, Rock, and Dark-Type moves, which are common Types for Pokémon in the first two areas of the game. Fortunately, Hisuian Lilligant also has plenty of weaknesses, and players can counter it with Flying, Fire, Poison, Psychic, Ice, and Fairy-Type moves.

#3 Frenzied Noble Arcanine Turns Up The Heat In Pokémon Legends: Arceus

While the first two Noble Pokémon battles in Pokémon Legends: Arceus are relatively easy to beat, things start to heat up by the time trainers reach the Frenzied Noble Arcanine. The large magma pits on the battlefield require trainers to be more aware of their environment and not only time their dodges, but also stay in a position where they can avoid Arcanine’s attacks as well. Additionally, Arcanine will set the center of the battlefield ablaze halfway through the fight, limiting players’ movements even more and making the Lord of the Isles much harder to dodge.

As a Rock/Fire-type Pokémon, Hisuian Arcanine is resistant to Normal, Flying, Fire, Bug, Poison, Ice, and Fairy-Type attacks, which gives it more resistances than the other Frenzied Nobles. However, it is weak to Water, Ground, Rock, and Fighting-Type moves. Fortunately, the Firespit Island where players encounter Noble Arcanine is surrounded by the seas of the Cobalt Coastlands, which means there are plenty of strong Water-types nearby that players can catch before facing the Lord of the Isles in battle.

# 2 Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ Noble Avalugg Is Hard To Beat

The Noble Avalugg boss battle is one of the toughest fights in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and trainers will have to be masters at dodging to survive their encounter. Noble Avalugg unleashes a wide variety of deadly attacks that are extremely difficult to dodge, and players have a limited amount of space to dodge on top of the icy platform where they face the Frenzied Noble. Between icy spikes that shoot up from the ground and rapid-fire homing attacks, trainers will have to dodge with absolute precision that is unmatched by the other Noble Pokémon battles in the game.

However, Hisuian Avalugg is an Ice/Rock-type, which gives this Frenzied Noble more weaknesses than resistances when it comes time to send a Pokémon into battle. It’s weak to Rock, Ground, Water, and Grass-Type moves, and it takes four times as much damage from both Fighting-Type and Steel-Type moves. Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ Noble Avalugg is resistant to Normal, Flying, Poison, and Ice-Type attacks, but trainers can take advantage of its low Special Defense stat by countering it with strong Fighting or Steel-type Special Attacks like Flash Cannon or Aura Sphere. Despite the strength of its attacks during the action phase of the battle, Noble Avalugg can be easily knocked out during the turn-based Pokémon battle, which will give trainers a long window of time to throw balms.

#1 Hisuian Electrode Is Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ Most Difficult Noble

While the final two Noble Pokémon boss fights of Pokémon Legends: Arceus are fairly evenly matched in terms of difficulty, the Frenzied Noble Electrode can be the most frustrating boss trainers face in the game. Like Avalugg, the Frenzied Electrode’s attacks are relentless, but this Noble’s electric homing orbs completely control the pace of the battle, leaving little time for trainers to do anything except dodge and try to stay alive. These laser-focused orbs are hard to shake and follow the player at almost their exact running speed, and if players stop moving for more than a second, they’re likely to get hit. Electrode’s attacks are also more sporadic, making it difficult to dive out of the way as explosive orbs drop quickly all over the battlefield. Fortunately, Noble Electrode will eventually wear itself out, giving players a brief moment to send out a Pokémon to battle.

However, Hisuian Electrode’s Electric/Grass typing leaves few weaknesses, though players will be able to counter it with Poison, Bug, Fire, and Ice-type moves. Noble Electrode is resistant to Water, Grass, Electric, and Steel-type attacks, and its own Electric-type moves are likely to paralyze the trainer’s Pokémon. The boss fight against the Frenzied Noble Electrode is one of the longest fights in the game, requiring players to have patience and stay on their toes as they challenge Pokémon Legends: Arceus’ Lord of the Hollow.
