It is possible to find a Shiny Alpha creature in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Shiny Pokémon have been a staple in the Pokémon series since the release of Gold and Silver back in 1999. Back then, the odds of finding one of these rare creatures was 1/8192, making them nearly impossible to encounter naturally. As a result, most trainers’ first Shiny Pokémon experience would be with the Red Gyarados in the Lake of Rage. However, as time progressed, the Shiny odds have become much more forgiving, making it a bit easier to find these colorful creatures. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a new type of Pokémon called Alpha forms have made their introduction, and they can also be Shiny.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Trainers will immediately notice Alpha Pokémon when exploring Pokémon Legends: Arceus because of how they look. They are much larger versions of that type of Pokémon and have bright-red eyes that glow with anger. They can be incredibly dangerous and will attack trainers if they are provoked. Every Pokémon has the chance to appear Alpha as long as they Pokémon can appear in the wild. Unfortunately, this means there are no Alpha mythical or legendary Pokémon available in the game. They also have fairly low catch rates, making them difficult to obtain.

It is possible for Alpha Pokémon to also appear in their Shiny forms. The base Shiny odds in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is 1/4096, meaning that every encounter has a 1/4096 chance of appearing Shiny. Although, there are a few ways to increase these odds. A handful of Alpha Pokémon will always spawn in the same location, meaning those looking to Shiny Hunt Pokémon need to report to those areas. Not only that but completing the Pokémon’s research task in the Pokédex will increase the chances of it appearing Shiny. These are the locations of every Alpha Pokémon in the game.

Before Shiny Hunting, players should unlock the Shiny Charm first. This is an item that will further increase the odds of a Shiny Pokémon appearing in the wild. Although, it is one of the most challenging items to collect since trainers will need to finish the Pokédex to get it. Approach the Alpha Pokémon and if it’s not Shiny, leave the area and reload it. Return and repeat the process until its Shiny form appears. When it does, it’s recommended to start battling with it to prevent it from running away. Alpha Pokémon are dangerous, but Shiny Alpha Pokémon is the ultimate reward.
