IMDb TV releases a new trailer for Leverage: Redemption that reunites the show’s cast of con artists. Originally airing on TNT in 2008, Leverage follows former insurance investigator Nathan Ford (Timothy Hutton), who leads a team that includes a thief, a grifter, a hacker, and a retrieval specialist. The five-person team carries out heists against wealthy and corrupt businesses with the purpose of fighting corporate and governmental injustices. The show, which ended in 2012 after 5 seasons due to failing ratings, also starred Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf, and a relatively unknown Aldis Hodge (One Night in Miami…, Black Adam).

The revival series, set to air on IMDb TV in July, will return the show’s original five stars, except for Hutton. To replace him, Leverage: Redemption will bring longtime ER actor Noah Wyle on board as Harry Wilson, a conflicted corporate lawyer, to replace Nathan as leader of the heist crew. Another bit of casting news that was announced was Aleyse Shannon, who will play the sister of Hodge’s character Hardison. The season wrapped filming in early April, and the first teaser for Leverage: Redemption was released the following month. Now, IMDb is unveiling another look at the upcoming series.

IMDb TV released the first full-length trailer for Leverage: Redemption, which reveals how these characters have changed since they were last seen in 2012. The heist crew’s cover, Leverage Consulting & Associates, has now grown into an international corporation known as Leverage International and has 12 active teams operating around the world. The company’s new logo can be seen in the trailer on a large computer monitor. Watch the first full-length trailer for Leverage: Redemption below:

Based on the trailer and the title, the central theme of this series appears to be redemption, which seems to be newcomer Harry Wilson’s main motivation. Wilson has spent years of his life working as a corporate lawyer but now realizes he has been defending the bad guys and appropriately wants redemption. The trailer features a rendition of “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood,” which oddly enough was also just used in a teaser trailer for Dexter’s revival season.

With a tone and story heavily reminiscent of the Ocean’s movies, Leverage quickly amassed a steady following over its successful 5 season run. Though interest waned towards the later seasons, the show garnered enough of a fanbase to warrant a revival season. IMDb TV isn’t nearly as big as some of its competitors like Netflix or Disney+, but Leverage: Redemption could potentially bring in more viewers. With the release date for the series quickly approaching, it’s likely IMDb TV will continue to ramp up the marketing campaign for Leverage: Redemption in the coming months.

Leverage: Redemption airs for free on IMDb TV on July 9.
