Life After Lockup: Britney Says Ray is Saving Up for A ‘Big Diamond’

Life After Lockup star Britney is opening up about her proposal expectations from Ray, revealing the “big diamond” ring she is expecting from him. Despite Ray being fresh out of prison, Britney hasn’t changed the high standards she has for her life. After a few months of dating Ray ahead of his prison release, Britney is ready to get married and settle down with her boyfriend. While Ray works to adjust to life as a free man, his girlfriend won’t let up on her plans for their future together.

Viewers were introduced to Britney and Ray’s post-prison love story on Love After Lockup season 4. The pair met through a mutual friend on Facebook and struck up a romance while Ray was serving out time for a narcotics conviction with the intent to sell. While Britney’s family expressed their reluctance to meet Ray, Britney’s boyfriend showed a sweeter side to himself than what’s typically seen in the series. Like Britney, Ray appeared focused on not only making his relationship work but also building a future he can be proud of. Alas, he still has to get used to life outside of prison.

During a recent appearance on the Domenick Nati Show, Britney gave fans an update on why she and Ray are still not engaged. “He hasn’t proposed,” she revealed. “He’s been really working on himself which I think is first and foremost. You can’t be a good partner to somebody unless you’re good with yourself.” But Ray is a working man, Britney explained. He’s currently saving up his money to get his future fiancée something nice. “I’m thinking he might be saving up for my real big diamond. So that might be what’s holding him back,” Britney made sure to note.

During their time on Love After Lockup, viewers blasted Britney and accused her of putting such high demands on Ray so soon after his release. It was during a lunch date that Britney paid for when she started reminding Ray how he’ll be paying for lunch someday and proposing to her. She also told him how many kids she wants in the future. Some onlookers felt like she might be putting out too much too soon with the recently released convict, but Ray proved the naysayers wrong. Ray and Britney are still going strong and he is working hard to maintain a future with his leading lady.

The main issue is, of course, Britney’s family. Her mother has adamantly refused to meet Ray after learning Britney met him while he was in prison. Moreover, Britney had to trick her father and sister into meeting Ray after he confronted her about hiding him from her family. On Life After Lockup, Britney is now working to get her mother and family on board with her relationship. Good thing Ray is making it easy for her.
