Life After Lockup Exclusive: Michael Pops Big Question To ‘Redo’ Marriage

After years of putting Sarah Simmons through stressful times due to his womanizing ways, Life After Lockup star Michael Simmons has decided to get down on one knee and propose to his wife for a second time. An exclusive clip of Friday’s episode shows Michael using his two daughters to help him pop the big question to Sarah in an adorable family moment. His proposal comes after he previously shared the “open relationship” he has with his wife.

Since season two of Love After Lockup, viewers have watched Michael test Sarah’s patience through the ups and downs of their rocky relationship. The two met and fell in love as teenagers before welcoming their eldest daughter and getting engaged ahead of Michael’s three-year incarceration. While he served his time, he and Sarah eloped in a prison ceremony. Upon his release, Sarah expected to live happily ever after, but was blindsided when she learned of Michael’s cheating after she was already pregnant with their second daughter. Since then, the two have been off-and-on as Michael entertains romances with other women. Recent episodes have shown him back in New York with Sarah and the girls after she briefly tried to date someone else.

After leaving Sarah to go visit his family in Michigan, a trip that also included a date with a mystery woman, Michael is back in New York and appears to have decided to propose to Sarah. In an exclusive clip of Friday’s episode, Michael decides to get down on one knee and give Sarah the proposal she never got the first time around. Michael starts by telling Sarah that he missed her while he was away as the duo enjoys ice cream with their two daughters. “The time that I’ve been spending away from my family I realize that I miss that family dynamic,” he tells producers. “I feel like me and Sarah are in an amazing place right now and I’ve been hoping to be in the place since forever.”

The clip then shows him passing Sarah their youngest daughter, Gianha, who is holding a shiny diamond ring for her mommy. “I want this. I want to marry you,” Michael tells Sarah. “We are,” she replies. “I want to redo it,” he declares. “You’re not serious,” Sarah says while smiling. While speaking with producers, Michael explains his 9-year history with Sarah and owns up to his “selfish ways” that caused tension between them. “But I want my kids to know that mommy and daddy love each other and that mommy and daddy have made mistakes but we here as a unit,” he shares.

He goes on to share how he wants to give Sarah a real wedding since they first got married when he was in prison. “I want to give Sarah what I would’ve gave her if I wasn’t locked up,” he adds. However, Sarah appears reluctant to say yes. In last week’s episode, we watched her entertaining the possibility of getting back together with her ex-boyfriend, Malcolm.
