The release date for Life is Strange: Remastered Collection has finally been revealed. Square Enix first announced its Life is Strange: Remastered Collection at a showcase all the way back in March. Here, it was shared that both Life is Strange and its prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm would be included within this remastered bundle.

Originally, the Life is Strange: Remastered Collection was meant to release in the fall of this year. This would have coupled these games nicely with the most recent release within the Life is Strange series, True Colors. However, back in August, the Life is Strange team announced that the launch of the Remastered Collection was being delayed, citing the ongoing effects of the coronavirus pandemic as a reason for the change in dates. The developers additionally decided that in order to prevent any unwanted pressure on the Life is Strange team, leaving a slightly bigger gap between the release of True Colors and the Remastered Collection would be a prudent move. At that time, the Life is Strange developers went on to state simply that the Remastered Collection would be releasing in early 2022, avoiding any specific date.

Now, fans of the episodic Life is Strange series has a firm release date for the Remastered Collection. In a press release shared by Square Enix, it was confirmed that the games will be coming to Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC Steam on February 1, 2022. Along with its updated set of character and environment visuals, Square Enix went on to reveal that, unlike the original game in the Life is Strange series, the characters of Max and Chloe will have fully motion-captured facial animations in the remastered version. Meanwhile, Before the Storm will include Deluxe content, such as a Zombie Crypt outfit.

The release of Life is Strange: Remastered Collection in 2022 will be a welcome chance for fans to unite with Max and Chloe once more. Their stories are both powerful ones, that have each stood the test of time since the games’ initial releases in 2015 and 2017 respectively. Seeing these characters with their enhanced visuals will add another dimension to players’ gameplay and will likely offer an even more emotionally charged experience for fans old and new.
