The arrival of a brand new life-sized Good Guy Doll from the Child’s Play film franchise should bring plenty of holiday fear this December. As one of the most successful slasher film series to date, Child’s Play was first released in 1988 and centered around a single mother (Catherine Hicks) who unwittingly buys a possessed doll named Chucky for her son Andy (Alex Vincent). The original film spawned six sequels and a reboot over the course of the ensuing 30 years. As a result, Chucky has become one of the most recognizable faces in horror.

Last year, original creator Don Mancini successfully reintroduced Chucky into pop culture with Chucky: The TV Series, which was very well received by fans and critics. With talk about Chucky hotter than ever, Trick or Treat Studios has now officially launched the pre-sale for an exciting new tie-in doll. Mega-fans looking to add to their horror merchandise collections now have the chance, but it will cost them.

Trick or Treat Studios has announced not one, but two new life-sized dolls. One is the fully posable “Ultimate Chucky” with changeable head and hands, and the other is the “Plush Body” option with a plush torso and vinyl head, hands, and shoes. The plush is built for sitting or even cuddling, much in the same manner as Andy Barclay’s character in the original film. “Ultimate Chucky” is now available for $599.99 and the “Plush Body” will run fans $199.99, with both expected to begin shipping this December.

“Ultimate Chucky” is an officially-licensed, one-to-one scale replica sculpted by Cesar Dacol Jr., and stands at about 29″ tall. This figure is built with an industrial aluminum frame to support its standing position while upright, however, the “Plush Body,” coming in at 30″ long, does not stand on its own. Each of the figures bears an uncanny resemblance to the doll from the films and TV series, which is likely the cause for the inflated cost. While the plush doll’s face is that of the typical Good Guy Doll, the “Ultimate Chucky” version dons a deadly scowl and brandishes his signature knife.

This is an exciting collectible item for the horror fanatics out there. You can now bring the Child’s Play nostalgia with you everywhere you go, but fans should consider building up those savings now. $600 for a doll of any type is no cheap endeavor, but there’s no doubt a whole contingent of fans will dish that out to complete their collections. With Chucky: The TV Series season 2 expected this fall, now is the time for the Good Guy Dolls to come home.
