The Parent Trap star Lindsay Lohan has taken to TikTok to channel Annie James/Parker, recreating an iconic diss from the film. As a remake of the 1961 film of the same name, Nancy Meyers’ 1998 family comedy The Parent Trap launched Lohan’s career as one of the biggest child actresses of her generation. In the film, Lohan played twin sisters Hallie Parker and Annie James, who were separated at birth following their parents’ divorce. After running into each other at summer camp — not knowing the other existed — the pair devise a plan to switch places and reunite their mom and dad. In addition to Lohan, the film stars Dennis Quaid, Elaine Hendrix, Lisa Ann Walter, Simon Kunz, and the late Natasha Richardson.

Where most modern remakes fail, The Parent Trap managed to capitalize on a winning formula, thanks in large part to Lohan’s standout performance(s). Over two decades later, it remains more of the most memorable family films of the 90s. Last year, Lohan, Quaid, Hendrix, Walter, and director Meyers participated in a virtual reunion to celebrate The Parent Trap‘s 22nd anniversary, proving that the film still holds a very special place in pop culture zeitgeist and the hearts of fans.

Lohan recently took to TikTok to recreate a scene in which Annie shades her sister Hallie (and vice versa) at summer camp. The 35-year-old actress is shown mouthing the lines, “You want to know the difference between us? I have class and you don’t.” Lohan’s playful caption on her throwback post simply reads, “you heard it here first.”

The Parent Trap saw Lohan’s impressive on-screen debut playing two completely different characters; one having an English accent (as per this recreation video), and the other her natural American. Lohan’s ability to play two twins seamlessly in the beloved reboot quickly made the young actress a star. What’s more, during the recent cast reunion, Lohan opened up about how playing Annie and Hallie in The Parent Trap actually helped her to process her own parents’ divorce. Following The Parent Trap, Lohan went on to star in Freaky Friday and Mean Girls during the early 200s, cementing her status as a household name.

After a long break from acting, Lohan is looking to make a comeback, appearing in shows like Sick Note, Devil May Care, and starring in an upcoming Netflix romantic comedy, Falling for Christmas. On top of those projects, Lohan created a TikTok account this month to reconnect with her fans, making her debut on the platform with a video revealing that most people have been pronouncing “Lohan” incorrectly (it is in fact pronounced “Lowen”). Since both this original clip and the star’s recent homage to The Parent Trap have gone viral, Lohan is clearly off good start, and perhaps her followers can expect more throwback content from the actress very soon.
