Eminem unveils his new song, entitled “Last One Standing,” for Venom: Let There Be Carnage ahead of the superhero sequel’s release. The latest installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe sees Tom Hardy returning as Eddie Brock as he adjusts to his new life as a lethal vigilante using Venom’s powers while also attempting to revitalize his journalistic career through interviews with serial killer Cletus Kasady. However, when Kasady gets a hold of Brock’s blood, his attempted execution fails and he becomes the host to the dangerous symbiote Carnage, breaking free with fellow super-powered villain Shriek and going on a murderous rampage.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Woody Harrelson returns as Kasady and Carnage in Venom: Let There Be Carnage after debuting the former in the post-credits scene of the first film. Other returning supporting players include Michelle Williams as Eddie’s ex Anne Weying, Reid Scott as her new fiancé Dan and Peggy Lu as local convenience store owner Mrs. Chen, while newcomers include Naomie Harris as Shriek and Stephen Graham as San Francisco Police Detective Mulligan. The anticipated sequel is right around the corner and now Sony has something special for fans to get the ready for its release.

With just a day remaining until the film’s debut, Eminem’s official YouTube channel has shared his new song for Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Entitled “Last One Standing,” the track reunites Eminem with frequent collaborator Skylar Grey and marks his first pairing with Polo G and Mozzy. Check out the new song below:

Though Eminem’s track for the first Venom may have seen a mixed reception from fans of the artist, it will be interesting to see how listeners respond to the new song given the changes in collaborators. Fans of Eminem will know the name Skyler Grey well following their pairings on Dr. Dre’s Grammy-nominated “I Need A Doctor” and co-writing Eminem’s five Grammy-nominated “Love The Way You Lie.” The lyrics and title for the new song fit nicely into the epic battle at the heart of the story between the titular alien symbiotes and delivers an equally moving and exciting beat that’s sure to cap the film’s credits off nicely.

Though proper reviews have yet to drop for the film, early reactions to Venom: Let There Be Carnage certainly point to another fun ride for fans of the first Hardy-let outing, promising more weird chemistry between Eddie and Venom and a devilish performance from Harrelson. With the film hitting theaters on Friday, the wait for the reviews is a bit concerning given the negative performance received by its predecessor. Only time will tell what the sequel has in store when it hits theaters on October 1.
