Live-Action Disney Prince Charming: 10 Actors To Consider  

Disney is known for its animated classics, and several of these well-known films have received live-action remakes, like Aladdin and Cinderella. There are several other live-action flicks that are being worked on right now by this magical brand, too, including one that is all about Prince Charming.

Who should play this main man? Who could pull off the role to perfection? Who is someone that is handsome, dashing, romantic, strong and heroic? Well, we have thought of a couple of suggestions, and we will try to patiently wait and see who is eventually cast in this upcoming movie.

10 Robert Pattinson 

Robert Pattinson is best known for portraying Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter film series and Edward Cullen in Twilight movies. While he has starred in everything from rom-coms to action-adventure flicks, he has the cute and caring thing down.

From helping Harry during the Triwizard Tournament to falling in love with Bella Swan, Pattinson’s characters have shown strength, dignity and compassion, which are all traits seen in Prince Charming, as well. Plus, Pattinson has that chiseled face and those piercing eyes, which also could work well with this potential part. 

9 Jesse Williams

Jesse Williams has modeled, acted, produced, directed and more, and he too could be considered for this Disney role. He has appeared in films such as The Cabin in the Woods, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and Dirty Dancing 3: Capoeira Nights, but he is best known for portraying Dr. Jackson Avery on Grey’s Anatomy.

Again, some of his characters have had exhibited very prince-like behavior, and his looks definitely helped him land on this list ⁠— while Prince Charming is more than just a pretty face, that is a big part of it.

8 Tom Welling 

Up next is Tom Welling, and he actually already played a leading man who is sort of like a Disney prince, as he was Clark Kent (a.k.a. Superman) in Smallville. He has also been seen in works like Lucifer, Judging Amy, Cheaper by the Dozen and The Fog.

He has range. He has a strong jawline. He has what it takes to play an in-charge and respected character. Welling is another actor who is easy to picture starring in this future film.

7 Dylan Minnette

Dylan Minnette has been in shows like Lost, Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy. He has been in scary and thrilling films like Let Me In, Goosebumps, Don’t Breathe and The Open House. He also plays Clay Jensen in 13 Reasons Why.

While most of these were dramatic roles, this actor could also play a magical and romantic part too. He could show up, looking quite handsome. He could possibly sing a little song. And Minnette could definitely make a Disney princess or two fall in love with him. 

6 Mike Vogel 

Next up is Mike Vogel, who has had some pretty notable roles over the years. In 2003, he was in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. In 2005, he was in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. And in 2013, he was in Bates Motel. From 2013 to 2015, he was in Under the Dome. 

Going forward, Vogel could be in a live-action Disney film. He can play intriguing and kind parts, and he certainly has a face that could be seen on a picture-perfect prince as well. 

5 Nicholas Gonzalez 

Over the years, actor Nicholas Gonzalez has appeared in everything from Walker, Texas Ranger to The O.C. He was even in The Purge: Anarchy. His biggest roles, though, were on TV shows such as Melrose Place, Sleepy Hollow, Pretty Little Liars and The Good Doctor.

Just look at him ⁠— he comes across as strong and sturdy and sweet, all at the same time. Those are all traits seen in Disney princes, so it is also easy to picture this attractive man in this iconic part. 

4 Liam Hemsworth

From Will Blakelee in The Last Song to Gale Hawthorne in the Hunger Games movies, Liam Hemsworth has also shown off some traits that could be seen in this upcoming film. In just these two flicks, he fell in love, stood up against bad guys, and stayed true to himself. 

Yes, this actor is very beloved and famous, and he looks like he was born to play a prince. While the role has not been cast yet, it would not be surprising if we heard he won the part.

3 J.R. Ramirez

There are a few more potentials to discuss, like this man right here, J. R. Ramirez. He portrays Detective Jared Vasquez on Manifest. He was Oscar Arocho on Jessica Jones. He was Ted Grant (a.k.a. Wildcat) on Arrow.

He can do more than drama and superhero work, though…and maybe that will include a live-action Disney movie. He has the necessary traits, which is clear just by looking at him and watching him in these shows. Ramirez could be a great pick. 

2 Henry Golding 

Between this year and last year, Henry Golding was in three notable films: Crazy Rich Asians, A Simple Favor and Last Christmas. Based on this fact alone, he has made this list.

He has that perfect blend of boy next door and strong/sturdy, and a dreamy smile. Golding could easily sweep a princess off her feet, save the day and ride off into their happily ever after. 

1 Matt Bomer

Last but not least is Matt Bomer, who has been in All My Children, Chuck, White Collar, American Horror Story and Magic Mike, to name a few. 

All of the men on this list have acted in notable films and series. All of them can be sweet and caring. They can be heroic and brave. They have faces that seem to be made for Disney roles. But Bomer, more than any of them, truly has the look, and it would be spectacular to see him star in this much-anticipated flick.
