Stunning new art envisions Antony Starr as Dragon Ball‘s Cell. Dragon Ball focuses on protagonist Son Goku’s quest to acquire all seven Dragon Balls. That being said, the sprawling Dragon Ball franchise is arguably one of the most expansive out there, with animated series that include Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Super, among others.

Cell is one of Dragon Ball‘s most popular villains, and makes his anime debut in Dragon Ball Z. Cell is one of Dr. Gero’s Red Ribbon Androids, and was created using the DNA of the world’s best warriors, including Frieza, Goku, and Piccolo. As a result, Cell is designed to be the ultimate fighter and possesses a variety of incredible abilities that range from flight to ki blasts to regeneration. Cell’s appearance has also changed multiple times depending on what form he’s in; while he looks like a large cicada in his larval form, he’s fully humanoid by the time he absorbs Android 18 and reaches his Perfect form.

Digital artist bosslogic imagines what The Boys Starr would look like as a live-action Cell. Bosslogic shows Starr in what appears to be Cell’s Perfect form, complete with green horns and eerie, glowing purple eyes. In addition, bosslogic’s use of dark colors and a muted background provide a sharp contrast to Starr’s terrifying features. You can check out bosslogic’s amazing portrayal of Cell below:

Starr is no stranger to playing villains and is perhaps best known for his role as Homelander on Amazon Prime’s The Boys. Although Homelander is part of Vought’s elite team of heroes, he is secretly a psychopath without a conscience. Starr manages to perfectly capture Homelander’s extreme narcissism throughout the show; in addition, considering Cell sees himself as a perfect specimen, it’s somewhat fitting that bosslogic has cast Starr as the Dragon Ball villain. Fans already know that Starr is a fantastic actor, so seeing him put his own spin on the egotistic Cell would be the icing on top of the cake.

Cell has remained one of Dragon Ball’s central antagonists for years. However, his backstory is easily one of the most intriguing as well, which is arguably one of the reasons for his sustained popularity. While Dragon Ball has introduced various villains throughout its many series—including Moro, who has recently reached his final form—die-hard Cell fans continue to stick by their convictions: Cell will always be Dragon Ball‘s most frightening villain.
