Fans of the Netflix show Locke & Key have gotten a new look at the show’s villain, Dodge, leading into season 2 of the supernatural series. Locke & Key premiered in early 2020 to positive reviews and was almost immediately renewed for a second season by Netflix. However, the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 last year caused some production delays for the series, and there still is not a confirmed release date for Locke & Key season 2.

Locke & Key is part horror, part fantasy story based on the comics of the same name created by Joe Hill & Gabriel Rodriguez. It tells the story of three kids who move to the mysterious Keyhouse and discover magical keys that give them eerie powers. Among the memorable characters is Dodge, the series villain played by Laysla De Oliveira. Dodge’s full evil plan was left a mystery at the end of season 1, but De Oliveira has teased the character’s return for season 2.

Just a few days ago, De Oliveira posted a photo to her Instagram referencing her villainous character to tease Locke & Key season 2. The photo shows the actress in makeup as Dodge and the caption jokes about how De Oliveira is in “full Dodge mode” now. You can view De Oliveira’s post below.

For fans of Locke & Key who haven’t had any news about the series in months, this first look at season 2 Dodge was certainly exciting to say the least. Many fans have already begun theorizing about the plot elements of Locke & Key season 2. Most are concerned with how the character Ellie might be returning in the new episodes since her death was left ambiguous at the end of last season. There’s also the question of how Gabe, now revealed to be Dodge in disguise, might be plotting to manipulate the heroes into giving up their keys.

Thanks to De Oliveira’s post, fans are clearly looking forward to the return of Dodge, as well as the rest of the Locke & Key cast. It’s certain that Dodge will play a pivotal role in the new season, but there’s also plenty of potential for new villains, and new magic keys with unique powers, to be introduced. The end of season 1 left a lot of questions unanswered, and with no news yet as to the release date of season 2, viewers are just left to guess what the new episodes of Locke & Key might hold.
