Lost Ark features five classes including the Warrior class, which is a tank-oriented class with high defense and slow, but powerful melee attacks. Warriors are devastating but slow fighters best suited to taking damage off teammates while dealing heavy melee damage. Lost Ark players focused on high damage per attack and high defense will be suited to playing Warriors. The Warrior class is further broken down into three advanced subclasses starting at level 10.

Once players hit level 10, they will have a choice between three subclasses for the Warrior: Berserker, Paladin, and Gunlancer. Each of these classes has specific weapons, skills, and engravings for players to utilize while dealing and receiving damage. The Berserker deals high damage greatsword attacks with potent defense, accentuated by a burst mode that heightens attacks and movement speed. The Paladin channels powers of the gods into potent offensive and defensive moves including holy skills and buffs that can help the whole team. The Berserker is the most offensive subclass for the Warrior in Lost Ark. Berserkers are focused more on dealing damage than defensing the team and use Greatswords as their main weapons.

The Paladin is a great balanced tank option for utilizing both offense and defense, making it a good class for new Lost Ark players. However, Paladins usually specialize in support roles during endgame activities. Paladins use One-Handed Swords and a book as their main weapons.

The Gunlancer is a heavy tank character that is regarded by some as the best pure tank class in Lost Ark. The Gunlancer does heavy burst damage while being able to block almost all incoming attacks with its shield. Gunlancers use Gunlances and shields as their main weapons. Gunlancers are almost like a human version of a stronghold.
