Lost‘s Josh Holloway is set to star in JJ Abrams’ upcoming HBO Max series Duster. Holloway starred as James “Sawyer” Ford, the cocky ex-con-turned-good guy on the massively successful ABC series Lost for six seasons. The hit sci-fi drama show premiered in 2004 and told the story of a group of survivors after crash-landing on a mysterious island. Created by JJ Abrams along with Jeffrey Lieber and Damon Lindelof, Lost ended in 2010 with a divisive series finale following years of fan theories and speculations.

Now over a decade after the Lost series finale aired, Holloway is re-teaming with Abrams for the upcoming HBO Max series Duster. According to The Illuminerdi, Holloway will star in the upcoming series, which is set in the 1970s Southwest and will center around “a gutsy getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate, who goes from awful to wildly, stupidly, dangerously awful.”

The series is co-written by Abrams and The Walking Dead‘s LaToya Morgan. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot signed a five-year executive deal with WarnerMedia back in 2019. As part of the deal, Abrams is developing three new shows for HBO Max: Overlook, inspired by Stephen King’s The Shining, DC’s Justice League Dark, and Duster.

While no other information surrounding the rest of the cast of Duster has been announced yet, Lost fans are surely excited to see Holloway and Abrams teaming up again for a TV series. Holloway, whose performance as the rugged and sarcastic Sawyer with the Southern charm was beloved by fans for six years, sounds like the perfect fit for a 70s getaway driver in the Southwest.
