Lacey Whitlow endured a ‘whirlwind‘ of a pregnancy during the pandemic, and now she’s dishing all the details in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant. The Life After Lockup star recently gave birth to her first child with her husband Shane Whitlow. This was all while they raised her three children from previous relationships and continued their life without interference from Lacey’s ex John Slater.

Season four ended with Lacey and Shane welcoming their daughter Summer Rayne Whitlow. She is their first child together in Lacey’s blended family of six. Fans have watched Lacey share her complicated love life on the show as she’s remained transparent about the feelings she once shared for Shane and John. When she first appeared on season two of Love After Lockup, she was dating both men while they were still serving out their prison sentences. With Shane getting out first, Lacey moved fast in shacking up with him while she was still engaged to her longtime on-and-off boyfriend John. Over the course of Shane and John’s release, Lacey has toyed with going back and forth between the two even after she and Shane tied the knot.

Last season followed Lacey and Shane as they moved on from their past cheating encounters, and prepared to welcome their first child together. With her just recently giving birth, Lacey was forced to go through the majority of her pregnancy during the pandemic. While speaking exclusively with Screen Rant, the mother of four explained what it was like being pregnant during the COVID pandemic. “Being pregnant in general has its up and it has its downs, but being pregnant during this pandemic has been a whirlwind,” she admitted. With it being her fourth pregnancy, Lacey was no stranger to the experience. However, nothing could prepare her for how the pandemic took a toll on the world.

It’s been really, really crazy,” she shared. “It’s definitely not the pregnancy that I thought it was gonna be, as far as being able to go out and stuff like that. So, it’s been really hard.” The WeTV star was mindful of how the last year has impacted other families around the world. “I feel like it’s the same for us as it is for all of the world.” she added while noting the “adjusting” that has brought for “a whole new world now.” Lacey and Shane appeared smitten with their baby girl on the season finale. Baby Summer was already smiling up a storm upon delivery.
